Amvia providers?

Does anyone know what networks Amvia uses?

I can't get the newly installed Openreach FTTP in my town so I was looking around and found Amvia who say I can get 1000/65 of 500/75. But I wonder who the network is ? Their website doesn't help answer the question.

This is their FTTP product, not leased line product. The 500/75 sounds eerily like Talk Talk to me.

Looks like all of them:

As one of the UK's leading fibre providers our wholesale buying agreements with BT, TalkTalk, Vodafone, Cityfibre and many more mean that you'll get a fast network whatever your UK location, backed by a market leading price.

I guess you tell them where you want it, they reach out to who supplies the area and puts a deal in place.

Dig a little further. I think you will find its their FTTPoD product using BT Wholesale.

But these carry thousands of pounds for install, and it looks like a fairly standard install fee in this case ( a few quid , not even £100 ).

It may well be FTTPoD but it sure isn't clear, neither do they state any kind of contract length. I've tried calling but I guess they're still closed at the moment.

If they can do me 500/75 without the £20,000 install (I've had cheaper leased line quotes!!) .. then I'm taking it :D I guess we will see when they get back to me.

Ok, definitely keep us updated.. sounds a bit too good to be true, perhaps some glitch somewhere.

This is what I'm thinking. But yep, will let you know.

Its a glitch on their online checker. They're showing native Openreach FTTP products/pricing even at properties where only FTTC and FTTPoD are available. You can check this for yourself by doing a random check for FTTC only properties, eg at ME10 2UN.

For non-leased line services, AFAIK Amvia just use standard Openreach copper or fibre for their services. You can of course call them to get confirmation and hopefully get them to fix their online checker as well in the process.

dammit. I thought so. Still zero contact back from them after emails and filling in contact forms :/

They even show FTTP at my ADSL only address, so looks like GoFibre they have taken OR's FTTP to do list as an FTTP active list.

misleading isn't it. one might wonder if it is to bait them into signing up for something else :(
