Another BT annoyance

Hello, recently my BT line Ping has shots up to 100ms+ And online gaming is possible but if I host others can’t join. A younger person in my household plays Minecraft and among us, he’a getting the same. Among us shows the Ping as 300ms whereas Minecraft is about 140ms. What the hell has happened?!

Is the logs showing any recent disconnects because it sounds like the line may be damaged and the DLM is introducing Error correction to try keep the connection going

I'm using an openreach modem so no logs :/

Do you have the SH2 still (crap I know) plug that in and see if the spikes stop if they don’t it eliminates the modem being the problem plus BT would probably ask you to connect it anyways to look at the line stats sadly

Yeah I do, it's in a draw somewhere. If it's the modem I'll just get a Huawei one since I'm using ECI atm.

As above mate, you'll need to pop the BT hub on and post up the line stats.

Does sound like a major issue though.
it appears to have settled down to about 30ms now, still cant host tho.

You need to monitor the line realy, its not normal, it sounds like line fault that needs fixing.

But I would also make sure nothing on your connection is saturating the bandwidth, that could also be impacting the latency (my Sky Q used to be good at hurting my connection)
