right now we are settled its time to start looking for work and all that, lm also looking into the possibility of more qualifications!!

lve started the ball rolling on a company called Advent http://www.career-in-it.co.uk however lm left with a funding issue at the second, and since l assume there might be a few students here l had the novel idea of asking about what kind of funding/grants might be available to help towards something like this... lm told the whole course costs £5000 and going by suggestions lm likely to go for all qualifications l can get from hardware to software and networking.. and since this is both home learning and also group tutoring it sounds right up my street as l can work it around my life.. but funding might be the one part that messes up the lot T_T however it cant hurt to ask and do some leg work to find out what l can do.

If this means you are unemployed then you can possibly get government funding. Probably not via a company but perhaps via a University or College.

There was a big push lately for retraining to get people back into work and a fund was made available. When I left (via redundancy) my previous job there were all sorts of Cisco courses being thrown at us. Maybe worth looking into.

It was Careers Scotland who got the ball rolling on it all as part of the PACE initiative.

Don't have a clue who to see in England or Wales but I take it there must be some equivalent. Can't hurt to look into it.

The one thing I can say for sure is that I certainly wouldn't be paying £5000 or anything like it. I've done a few Microsoft certs. All you need are the official book (maybe), a few practise tests (DEFINATELY) and a place to take the exam. (Pearson VUE or Prometric) The practise tests are what got me through mine. Measure Up are good for learning, Transcender for practise, Test King etc. Sure you can find a load online.
