Anyone here use the SCANCOM EE sim?

Haven't a clue when mine renews.

I have a 3 sim from them (in SWMBO's phone) and if you looked on their web page it tells you the date they renew somewhere. Each batch and network will be different. Think the one I have might be the 8th of the month.

I think my 2 three sims are the 8th Mr Choo but not got a scooby about my EE one, I guess it'll be the 23rd like everyone is saying.

I had to email them about something and they responded quickly.

Yes they are normally very prompt with their replies for sure. (y)

Regarding the speeds after the FUP, in December I was getting above 200Mbps on 4G during the night. During the day I was getting 20-150Mbps, so clearly not top speed/priority all the time, but I was getting more than 100Mbps.

I think the speed limit is dynamic and depends on the load they have.

To know the renewal date, send "AL" to 150. If it doesn't work, make sure to connect your phone to wifi and enable wifi calling... then both sms and calls work via wifi:

Still a real bargain even with those slight restrictions me thinks. 😊

Had my EE sim a few months now, love it.

Does anyone get sms messages through it? that arent meant for them, i do.

For a woman in Ramsgate, i get dental appointments,, delivery information (pics of parcels, and tracking info), missed car payments, pretty much every few days.

I just get the 'used up the sharing amount of data' messages.
(And the ones from the woman in Ramsgates husband)

Don't take my word, but once I asked scancom and they said there should be no problem in terms of PAC transfer and receiving texts (obviously you can't send one unless having the more expensive unlimited data+min+text option).

How much data do you use per month? I keep reading in places that ee will reduce the speed hit 600gb... that is my worry, and what if scancom shuts down?
Reviving an old thread I know but I found myself exceeding the 600GB limit, by some margin, this month and waited and waited for any tangible impact but nothing ever transpired.

Granted it's a one-off but I went well past 1TB and speeds remained unaffected. Your mileage may vary but I remembered this thread and thought I'd provide an update.

It's not something I intended to test every month but there were extenuating circumstances for me this month.

Perhaps they never received my last email.
Dear Scancom......:devilish:

Are you in an EE 5G Coverage Area or using 5G?

Not too sure about Scancom but EE's first point of call when you hit the 600gb FUP is to cut off your 5G Access and only supply a 4G Access (or a reduced Speed 4G Access) until your next Month refresh Data.
Thanks for the info. The 5G aspect I can't comment on for the reason above but I couldn't detect any perceivable change in my 4G speed. Maybe if I persistently go over the 'limit' but on this isolated occasion it just carried on as normal until the allowance refreshed today.

I have hit approx 1TB a month for 6 months and not noticed any slow down in speed.
Although i'm connected at 4G rather than 5G so that may have something to do with it. In terms of speed i tend to average around 250/50 so i cant complain.

I average 90-100Mbps down in my area and have my router locked on the good cell and band for my area 1800MHz

My router is on a timer plug to reboot it every morning before I get up and doesn't save a log for the traffic after reboots
I've had my EE scancom sim for almost 3months now after the wee bear shared a deal on amazon for a rural broadband unlimited sim
I've hit over 600GB 1 of the months and the tower tried locking me to a different band but after I found out what the AT command was for my fibcom nl952 modem for my mikrotik router it was able to stay connected to the good band and speeds have remained about the same as always
I'm pretty sure this month i'm on the edge of 600GB again and if the reset date isn't the 23rd like previously mentioned I will break the 600GB amount again on the 27th when Alan Wake 2 releases
I've noticed today and yesterday it tried to kick me off the good band again but 2 reboots sorted that out and i'm back on the good band again with speed tests showing the same average 90-100Mbps down.

The image i've shared shows when I switched to EE from 3 and the 2 months i've had band and cell locking
The the far left section for start of august shows my speeds on 3, end of august shows when I joined EE and the drop in speed is when I was kicked and stuck on a different tower with 800MHz band 20

Hi, month 2 and I have just gone dead on the EE Scancom.
I was expecting throttling as the kids never stop streaming but not disconnection.
Are support business and mon- Fri hours only?

4G area so no 5G disconnection. Other Ee direct sims working okay
