They're selling shares in the NetCo it'll live in so seems fair to assume it'll be wholesale at some point in the not too distant.Do you think when Mustang goes live it will be wholesale like Nexfibre?
Depends if it’s a new build under Nexfibre or an existing VM build take a look at my handy blog explaining the three types of VM https://fttppro.co.uk/the-three-types-of-virgin-media-broadband/How long is it from Virgin (or its subcontracators) installing the new boxes to being able to sign up to fibre internet with Virgin (and what kind is it, FTTP?)?
Is your property currently served by VM DOCIS (HFC or RfoG) ?They are putting up new cabinets next to the existing VM cabinets (DOCSIS).
FTTP: they aren't building any more RFoG or HFC DoCSIS. Sounds like you already have VM cable available. If you do this is the XGSPON overlay. If you don't you're near it and will be getting Nexfibre and XGSPON.They are putting up new cabinets next to the existing VM cabinets (DOCSIS).
DOCIS?Depends if it’s a new build under Nexfibre or an existing VM build take a look at my handy blog explaining the three types of VM https://fttppro.co.uk/the-three-types-of-virgin-media-broadband/
If it’s Nexfibre then it will be XGS-PON FTTP typically takes less than a year to go live if the cabinets are in your area but can vary.
Thanks for the heads up meant to have put DoCSIS my dyslexia must have got the better of me that dayDOCIS?
DoCSIS - Data over Cable Service Interface Specification. The diagram is incomplete and incorrect too: worth checking your sources on that.
HFC. No idea what RfoG isIs your property currently served by VM DOCIS (HFC or RfoG) ?
What's that? A inferior product? If you do this is the XGSPON overlay.
