Anyone work for Openreach? I need to know if I'm being strung along

I've placed an order with a small ISP for FTTP and it's been going through loads of rigmarole over the last few months but I've finally been told my install date is 25th October, but I'm not sure whether I believe this or not. We've paid a £250 fee for an excess construction charge about 3 months ago, but I'm trying to actually work out if I'm being strung along.

I was hoping if someone worked for Openreach on here they might be able to look on their systems and confirm the installation is actually happening.

Any help is appreciated! Thank you.

I have noticed that if there is orders on your line that this can sometimes show up when you put your line number in the link below;

https://www.dslchecker.bt.com/adsl/ADSLChecker.TelephoneNumberOutput

I have done a copy and paste for a friend of mine who is moving to FTTC on 27th as you can see it shows an order on the line.

For all ADSL and WBC Fibre to the Cabinet (VDSL or G.fast) services, the stable line rate will be determined during the first 10 days of service usage.

This line is on a Market B Exchange.

There is an open order on your line which is due to complete by 27-Sep-2016.

For VDSL or G.fast Ranges A and B, the term "Clean" relates to a line which is free from any wiring issues (e.g. Bridge Taps) and/or Copper line conditions, and the term "Impacted" relates to a line which may have wiring issues (e.g. Bridge Taps) and/or Copper line conditions.

Hi Kits,

Thank you for the reply. That would work perfectly, apart from we don't have an active phone line right now, it's deactivated as we haven't used it for a couple of years. I've tried doing the search via address and it doesn't mention anything about an order unfortunately.

Bugger :(

Nobody here works for Openreach, but if you were required to pay an ECC (rare on native FTTP installs) then £250 is a drop in the ocean and those fees can rise to thousands of pounds. In that sense, I wouldn't complain too much :) .

Oh definitely. I'm certainly not complaining about the ECC, it's just that I would like reassurance this is actually going to happen. I may be being skeptical but it's a very small ISP (one man band) so I just want to make sure he is doing what he says.

If you want to message me the postcode and house number, it is possible to check on Openreach ELC and address availability for any known existing orders for most order types.

For ECCs, the communication provider would have been given a quote from Openreacch in writing. You could ask and they might provide a copy of that to show the order is moving along.
