Anyway to use AOL without software?

I am using a "Pay as you go" account and signed up with AOL but I needed to get online fast so I am using a PAYG (BT Yahoo) until my AOL version 9 finishes downloading, but it's massive and taking forever, anyway I can log into AOL without the software?

Thanks for any replies!

It's not for email, I know I can pick that up from their website, the whole point of my post is can I access AOL through dial-up without having to use the AOL software.

you used to be able to but i think they have now blocked it.

It would have been easier to have collected a cd from the many shops AOL cds are in!

I had an online chat with AOL's tech people - This was a big effort for me as I dont use their software!

Me: Please advise me how to config aol 9 for the dialer software so you
dont need the aol browser
Me: This is for my friend who is on aol dial up -
ChatAgent: When you are offline and the AOL software is open go to Sign
On Options choose Dialler Settings. Choose either AOL or AOL Dialler as your
default Dialler. Then choose "Always display AOL Dialler tray icon".. then
choose Save
Me: will this work for people who use a 56k modem dial up?
ChatAgent: yes.
Me: So you dont need to use the AOL browser at all for either adsl or
dial-up? Please confirm.
ChatAgent: No you don't.
