Are Solo 150 & 250 still available?

While having a nose around the Pipex site I noticed that although the 150 & 250 packages are advertised, they don't appear on the comparison chart and you can't seem to order them now.

Am I missing something?.

I was doing the same. Unless maybe their being scrapped in favour of speed increases like a number of other isp's? Why would you pay 17.99 for 256k now when you can get 2mb for the same money.

Pipex are going to take advantage of the speed increases, but we will have to wait and see how this changes the products.

It seems many isps are moving to the high speed products only, (i.e offer the fastest speed on your line thats available) then base the packages on Cap's. Maybe this is the start of BT getting rid of unlimited downloads in favour of speeds.. who knows.

Being on the 150 package I'll wait with interest.

TBH I find it more than adequate for general surfing and I don't download alot anyway.

Since installing netmeter the most I tend to use is 0.5 Gig a month, so paying for extra bandwidth shouldn't affect me.

Creative, in your opinion do you think they will release the changes to service/price soon?

Ben

The impression i had from the press office was kind of 'watch this space'. I stressed to them the fact that being one of the largest isp's they are now last to make the change. They said that members will be able to take advantage of the changes.

I for one hope its sooner rather than later and as a personal note will review the situation then for myself. Before i found out they intended to make changes i was about to migrate to another provider which was £10 less a month for 1mb than what i am paying.

The only problem i can see with many of these new upgraded packages is the CAP on bandwidth. At a guess i use about 30gb a month listening to net radio and with limits of like 1gb and 2gb on some packages from other isp's that is going to really kill net radio .

Of course we should all learn our lesson from the past.. as with dialup isp's i have been through over the years.. you get what you pay for and bandwidth costs money at the end of the day.. nothing is unlimited.
