Are the big players suffering ?

Just a little observation from me.

As a family of 5…2 Adults and 3 teenagers…about 2 years ago we was paying approx £100 per month for mobile service via EE / Vodafone.

Having taken up various offers….Both adults on smarty offer of £5.25 for 40Gb and teenagers on £10 plans….
Assuming thousands of others have done the same….

Have the big players been affected by the reduced income ? Or will they. ?

Cheers all

O2 lost 100K contract customers apparently in this quarter but I don't think it'll really affect them or any other big network.

After all, they could hike up the prices for MVNOs to use their service (and for networks like O2, 2 of the 3 MVNOs are owned fully/partially by Teléfonica anyways).

You have to remember, other countries pay less than we do and have a better service. Wasn't there mentions of Spusu IT (Wind Tre) having like 100GB of data for £6 or something like that?

I'm in .ro now, got a local Orange esim (Yoxo mvno) 160GB for £6. 60GB is £3. These are not promotional prices btw.
Other local operator (DIGI) offers 80GB for 2 euros.
In UK they're taking the mickey.

The counter to churn will be the usual increase on loyal customers. Its been strategy for numerous years now.
Yes and they're very slick at doing it gradually enough people will keep on renewing and I'm sure it works well for them in general.

I've been guilty of it myself since each increase was small but with the durations creeping up too and a big jump in cost with the removal of roaming fees I properly sat down and worked out my average usage then switched to Talkmobile. I'm saving a good chunk of money each month and if I ever do need a lot of data per month I'll just get another sim temporarily.
