Area Going Live Soon (SO19 - Sholing) - Having Doubts

I think my part going live will probably take long as nothing installed near me as such, unless they gonna pull a fibre from Coats road to Corner we're vm ducts are and use them, we dint gave any tees in front of house unlike Coates Road

Looks to me like they have already ducted up to the corner of Coates road, there is also 2 cabinets feeding that duct run at the opposite end of the road, I am guessing to cater for the houses along Burlsedon road .

They can only use Openreach ducts and poles under PIA, VM don’t have to share their infrastructure.

I think from this Openreach chamber they can pull through to the poles that serve the houses on your street. They do normally install a connector terminal to the pole though, that way your drop link is short, and one end can be plugged in and the other end at your property spliced.

Whilst out walking the dog on Saturday and Sunday this weekend I have seen Nexus Fibre Solutions workers in Warburton Road and Barrow Down Gardens. Credit where credit is due, it does seem like they are trying to get things finished off quickly. Given the live network is now so close to these streets,
it can’t be far away

Nexus Fibre Solution were again in the area today, they were connecting fibre (splicing) to all the cabinets in my surrounding roads (blue marks the local cabinets they have been working at).

Not sure if the cabinets are now technically live, but the fact fibre in now spliced and the live network is just a few street away is promising progress.

Time will tell i guess lol

Today on ToobWatch... Engineer seen on the Portsmouth Rd /Butts Road junction in an inspection pit chamber doing his thing. Progress hopefully!

ToobWatch 😆 - I think the extra finance has helped, let’s hope we all go live before it runs out again. 🤞🏻

The map is not updated yet but just seen this on Facebook. Good to see the flurry of activity is now translating into ready for service, I think it’s a matter of weeks away now.

I saw some company doing fibre work on Portsmouth Road along side were its wooded, by crossing earlier today

More toob work by me on Coates Road on bidb.uk

Also the other side of Bursledon road on Warburton road, lots of work in this area recently. Go live final prep maybe, given the live network is all around us, I noticed the new pole installed in Killarney Close in April now has a CBT wired up at the bottom of the pole, they trenched a good few hundred meters up Botley road to serve this pole.

Come on Toob take my money 😆

And mine

Was thinking recently about this frustrating wait, probably the longest wait I've ever had for anything, knowing I will get it.
I know I keep saying it but I'm so glad the wait finally ended for me last year. Reading though this thread my mindset was very similar to all of yours i.e following Toob progress on Facebook/Twitter/their own coverage maps and checking planning permissions/streetworks etc. It was at the point where me and the Mrs would be walking the dogs and I'd be stopping often to look up at phone poles in the area examine/taking pictures of the new Toob dp's trying to work out how close we are go going live. I'd be at work whilst she was working from home and if a random van parked in the street she would txt me to say if it had any identifier on it, so i would try and work out if they were a fibre/comms contractor. If I found out someone had climbed the street poles outside mine I would go back through my cctv camera to figure out if he was working on copper or fibre.

Honestly there's more I could share but I'm just so relieved now I have Toob out of my head space :ROFLMAO:

The CCTV one got me 😆 hold on a minute who is that parked up setting off my camera. 😆

I would like to add my camera was installed before Toob’s cabinet. 😁

So Nexus Fibre Solutions have been back again today, looked like they were plugging a fibre optic tester (PDA sized device) into the cabinet. Has anyone seen this type of activity local to them? This has to be the home straight right?

Is that a Toob cabinet or Openreach?
A good six months back we saw them here, working near to all the Toob contractors, but locals told me that they were working only doing work for Openreach and do not do any Toob in our area.
They also didmost of the Openreach fttp fibre laying and testing that is now live in Fareham.

It’s a Toob cabinet and most importantly the one that will serve my property 😁. Openreach equipment is further down the road.

Seems like they have been testing it, but I am never around to go ask them the million dolla question!
