Article comments

Does anyone now read the comments on the news and enjoy them almost as much as the articles themselves or is it just me? I’m not passing comment one way or the other on individuals’ views but the comments seem to go so far off topic and get so heated at times it‘s comical. Honestly you could write an entire sitcom based on the comments. Don’t get me wrong, I’ve allowed myself to get drawn into it so I’m not claiming to be any better or worse than others…

I’ve noticed Mark now puts a statement about any even vaguely contentious subject saying offensive comments will be removed. It’s such a shame as comments used to provide a really interesting discussion about a subject. I genuinely feel for the guys running the show as it must be extremely exhausting having to keep an eye on things.

I read the articles but purposely ignore the comments section altogether.
I wish I had this self control... :)

Comments are a dumpsterfire of the "usual suspects" spouting the same message on most things. "Boo BT, What do you need that speed for? my 4mbit does me fine! Altnets will win!" blah blah

Every now and then though you do get some good comments, which actually do add to the conversation.

The comments are notably turning into a garbage fire now, any post that involves any BT group company fills up with complete crap within a couple of hours.
