aspire internet no mac code

Indeed, if they don't get back to you then we're talking criminal fraud if the cheque is cashed.

Had an interesting email from one of our readers last night. Most of this is already known but the top bit, i think, is new:

It may be of interest to you or your readers, regarding the liquidation of Aspire Internet.

I have received a letter from Aspire Internet Solutions Ltd. (Company Number 6658667) trading from the same address as Aspire Internet Ltd (5832047) asking me to set up a new direct debit, in order for the company to start taking monthly payments. The name that will appear on my statement apparently is Etico Solutions.

There is no mention of the Creditors Voluntary Liquidation of Aspire Internet Limited, only the excuse that there was an error during “our recent change of Bank”

A quick check of companies house, shows Aspire Internet Solutions Ltd to have formerly been trading as Christian Internet Limited, the name was changed on 25/08/10. The sole director is Tim Longton.

After the receiving the letter (post 45) which also asked me to complete a new DD form online at www.aspireinternet.co.uk/directdebit, I emailed accounts@aspireinternet.co.uk asking for an explanation of who Aspire Internet Solutions were, and what was their connection to Aspire Internet who were in Liquidation.

The email was sent Sunday evening. At 09:30 Monday my connection stopped.

I have had full access for the 3 months since the Liquidation, and I am fully prepared to pay whoever has provided it for that access, but I won't pay anyone until I am satisfied that they are due the monies.

By starting a new company (or renaming an existing one) with a name so similar to the one in Liquidation, using the same website, and not even mentioning the switch I am inclined to feel that they are trying to get me and any other customers of the failed company to pay them, whilst in reality this money is due to either the Liquidator, the Creditors, or whoever else has been providing the connection since the liquidation.

It's a complicated situation and Aspire's liquidators haven't really made it any easier by failing to keep existing customers fully and clearly informed. However, do remember that you are still under an obligation to pay for any service received.

Still, you're quite right to wait for confirmation of the situation before paying.

I got this reply from ISPA to a query about their membership

Hello,

Thank you for your email. I can confirm that Aspire Internet are not ISPA members, they were taken out of ISPA members list now. We were informed that they were in liquidation too and we didn’t have any contact with them since last year. We also informed CISAS (Communications & Internet Services Adjudication scheme) to remove them from their list too.

If you need any help please contact Ofcom on 020 7981 3040

Kind regards,

if you look at their terms and conditions aspire means aspire internet ltd which i would think makes the whole document and their terms and conditions null and void, they really are grasping at straws to take any income they can, by it seems any method possible, during my time with them trying to get my mac code i think i was given 3 different possible accounts to pay into, i like many others have found them to be the most useless company i have dealt with yet, my advice as i was given by so many others is get out of there as soon as you can

I managed to get through to Aspire Internet Solutions on the phone yesterday, and as usual I could get no real answers to my questions, and the promised "call back" has never materialised. I am also still awaiting a response to my email.

I think my best option would be to write to them (recorded delivery) stating that I do not wish to enter into a contract with Aspire Internet Solutions, and requesting a detailed Invoice of any charges I have incurred for Jan, Feb and March since Aspire ceased trading.

Trading Standards have confirmed to me that I cannot be transferred between suppliers without my consent.

Ha,

I sent them an email using the online form on the website, basically saying the above.

Now my Pop EMail account (still a pop3.blueleafmail account) isn't working.

Ah well !!!
