AVG Updates

Out of date again, there is a new version of the AVG program and update files on their site.
AVG 8.0.237 and Virus DB 270.11.1/1946

Once again I have had to do it manually.

everything is running like clockwork for me.. tho l tend to do it somewhat manually anyways, due to my weird online times lve usually ran the process manually

timeless, I dont mean manually clicking "Update Now", I mean having to download the updates to a folder and tell AVG to look for the updates in the folder.

Interestingly, the program update was not "found" until I removed both of the data-base updates from the folder.

you removed the files stated in a link l posted? the *.cft ones.. lve definitely had an issue stating that the cft files couldnt be found but like l said that was on a previous install.. and was intermittent tho from my research at the time it seemed like allot of ppl started suffering from that issue recently.

Hi timeless, the trouble is, as before, it works and works and works then stops working; and you may not notice for several days, especially if you are working weird hours, as I am at the moment.
Now it may take the next update correctly or it may not, sometimes manually updating fixes the problem for a while and other times it does not.

As to removing the cft files, I went further than that, I downloaded the latest version and did an uninstall/delete folder/reboot/clean install only a few weeks ago.

hmm, l guess lm in the habit of daily checking.. lm not exactly the paranoid type but its part of my daily routine to do it daily regardless of how messed up my hours are.. guess its just something l do without thinking about it.

I update manually as I switch on in the morning.
This morning Windoze ME got a 91Kb update, about the usual.
However XP got 8107 Kb and Vista 8225 Kb. This is after no more than twelve hours of the last update.
Is something nasty lurking?

I use Foxit, faster to load and use than Acrobat Reader.
