B535 Three firmware update

Had a firmware update for my B535 a couple of days ago and i'm now unable to change bands manually with the different software/apps that are available. Just a heads up should you want to turn auto update off if you have a B535 from Three.

Can't see any major changes with this update. 192.168.8.1 now redirects to hirouter.net. For whatever reason, i've had some connection issues with sky q using wifi since the update, ethernet fixed these issues. Web interface freezes occasionally.

Software version
11.0.1.2(H200SP5C21)
Web UI version
WEBUI 11.0.1.1(W2SP4C21)
Configuration file version
B535-232-CUST 10.0.1.2(C21)

Lost in translation 🤷‍♂️

Guess its not just a Three thing then. Thanks for the info!
found a collection of b535 firmware in that thread:

when I flashed my b525, I had to use the balong usb downloader and a usb a to usb a cable, plus a test point.

no idea if that's possible on the b535, and I'm not in a rush to purchase one to find out.

I don't think its possible with the b535. Done a bit of research when i first got it and don't think anyone has cracked that egg yet

The usbloader exists: https://www.elektroda.pl/rtvforum/topic3838501.html

Biggest issue people are finding is the mix UI firmware is not available, so you could update the OS but not the web user interface or vice versa leaving you with no access to the web interface.

Found UART stuff for the cable, multicast upgrade tool, etc.

It has been a year or so since i last checked so perhaps some progress has been made. I'll take a look at the link, thanks for sharing it!

Noticed unable to login getting hirouter.net redirect. Certainly doesn't appear to be happy with the use of a DNS server other than the router itself. It's also broken huactrl app

Sorry, I know this is a bit old by now, but am guessing that this is on a B535-333?

@cancunia
My hardware from three is the B535-232 but it would be safe to assume that the B535-333 got the same update. Maybe someone here on the forum with that hardware version could confirm

That's interesting, thanks for confirming. I have a B535-232 which AFAIK is from Three but it's stuck on Firmware V10.x and according to the update page there are no later versions available. I'm having problems with getting it to recognise a iD Mobile SIM card and thought that maybe an upgrade would help.
I also have a B535-333 which is on firmware V11.x, that has no problems with the iD SIM.

Hmm, I'm with ID mobile and i'm pretty certain i've used their sim on my B535 running the older firmware. Its been a while but i'm pretty sure i did. Have you tried resetting the device with the ID sim inside?

Just to add, have you inserted a sim that does work and waited a couple of days to see if the device automatically updates?

Thanks for the tip, and again for the feedback re iD. I'll try the reset tomorrow. Did the firmware upgrade come while you were using the iD SIM?

No, it would have been with the Three sim. ID mobile was only used for a couple of weeks while i was shopping about for a good deal with Three. Perhaps its a APN issue?

2 steps forward....
I connected the B535-232 to my ADSL via PPPOE with a Three SIM in the slot, the Three SIM has no credits for minutes or data but is recognised by the router. Straight away, the update checker told me there was an update waiting for the firmware, so I confirmed the update.
The router downloaded the update and I now have the following:
Software version 11.0.1.2(H200SP5C21)
Web UI version WEBUI 11.0.1.1(W2SP4C21)
Configuration file version B535-232-CUST 10.0.1.2(C21)

But, the iD SIM is still not recognised & I'm now getting a certificate error when trying to access the router home page.
I suspect the certificate error may be connected to my changing the LAN IP from 192.168.8.1 to 192.168.0.1 as that's when I first noticed the problem.
I get the following error in my Opera (Chrome) browser but Firefox seems happy about it so I'm guessing there's something stored in the settings of the Opera browser somewhere:

Your connection is not private

Attackers might be trying to steal your information from hirouter.net (for example, passwords, messages, or credit cards).

@cancunia
I have the same issue with certificates. Only started when the B535 updated to new firmware and i am still using default address. I don't recall what i did to fix it but it was something in my chrome security settings. It still happens occasionally and i just click "proceed anyway"
I've just thrown my ID sim into the router, still working as usual. Its connected to the default apn that still says EE for me.

When you reset the device are you doing so in the router admin page or physically with a pin? I was having issues connecting to router admin via ethernet connected devices and i couldn't figure out why (connected directly to b535) was in cmd resetting network settings on my PCs, static ips etc.. and nothing. So I reset the device on a Wi-Fi connected device using admin page but still had the same problem. I then tried resetting it via the pin hole and i was able to connect. Coincidence, I do not know. All i know is i've had nothing but issues with this new firmware. Connection is fine but accessing admin page can be a mission.
