B818-263 no power

Hello, or "help" as autocorrect intuitively detected I wanted to write there,

I have acquired a b818-263 which has no signs of life when power is supplied.

Before I try and go down the tracing power supply to components road, does anyone know of:
  • Any common electrical faults on these, or
  • Any firmware bricking that may have occurred
  • Whether this is something that has happened to anyone else
And basically any tricks to bring it back to life.

Also... If anyone knows how to modify it to hook it up to a pc for ADB!

Thanks

No that I'm aware of, and I really abused mine.

I had the router mod done to it. Then reverted to stock internal antennas, as these performed better on the Three network, using the stunted Optus firmware.

As these don't have a USB port, but do have the soldering points on the motherboard for one, I tried to unsuccessfully solder a USB port on the board. Stuffed that up, but board still powers up and works so far.

Perhaps try a different power supply?

Thanks, that's something at least. Will just try tracing power and see where it leads. It's definitely not the supply.

Is it obvious where the usb points are? I might give that a go!
