B818 with low and unstable SINR

I live in an urban environment with a Three mast 300 metres away with cells with bands 1 and 3 enabled. Network Cell Info shows at least 2 cells with band 3 and 2 cells with band 1 on the same mast.

I'm getting quite low SINR and speeds around 50 Mbps throughout the day.
The B818 router is on a window sill with the best signal. I tried rotating the router but it didn't help much.

I was thinking getting a CPE Pro 2 to improve the signal quality, but from the advice here I understand it's unlikely to improve things.

RSSI: -113.0 dBm
RSRP: -85.0 dBm
RSRQ: -7.0 dB
SINR: 11.0 dB

Try an external antenna (and a coupleof ts9 to sma pigtails).
The money for a 5G router would be better spent on getting away from Three.

Metrics are fine. SINR is somewhat expected for an urban environment where there'll be a number of other masts in the vicinity. I expect the speeds will be due to the capacity available to you on the network itself, rather than anything you can control.

ok, thanks for the advice. I'll stay with Three for now as the latency of sub 20ms on the mast is brilliant. I couldn't get ping times below 30ms on any other provider in my area.

I have an even lower SINR on the local three 4G mast that only has B3 enabled. But more or less constant 70/40.

Interestingly I just checked and my RSSI went up and is now at -60 dBm. I'm getting 70/25 over wifi. I'm happy for now :D

Just a quick update from excited me - today my router picked up band 3 on the same mast giving previously unseen speeds of 97/44.
I am especially impressed by the upload, most probably it is due to the fact band 3 is 15 MHz wide here.

I thought you already connected to B3 before - your OP mentions B3 and B1? I'm confused!

Also, Three's B3 is 15Mhz wide everywhere - that doesn't vary depending on location.

There are two masts nearby, one with a stronger signal than the other. Previously for some reason router would always choose to connect to a weaker signal mast on the B3 and only when I force B1 it would connect to a stronger signal mast. Possibly due to the contention on the stronger mast.
Now the router connects to B3 on the stronger mast and I get improved speeds.
