ADOBE IS WORKING with the BBC to make the broadcaster's Iplayer service available to to Macintosh and Linux users by the end of the year.
Adobe will take over the development of a free streaming version of the player for OS X, Linux and Windows.
The fact the Iplayer was available only to Windows XP users as a video download service miffed many. Some were so bothered they even posted a petition on the Government's daft ePetitions page.
Adobe said that the new player will be Flash based and will offer live and on-demand video content.

I'm waiting for iPlayer to come out of beta before using it. :hrmph:
