Hey all
I'm redoing my whole network at home due to cancelling 3. At the moment I'm going to pop an EE SIM into an unbranded Huawei CPE Pro 2 and it'll be connected to 2 x Deco XE75 nodes. I've had the Decos for a year and they're awesome.
The previous setup I had was to disable DHCP on the CPE Pro 2 and let the Deco do all the IP address stuff. After I couldn't get the VPN to work on the Deco, I changed the CPE Pro 2 to NAT mode. This meant I couldn't access the router homepage anymore but it meant that the deco did all the port forwarding stuff.
Is that the ideal way? Does it matter which router handles the DHCP?
Ideally I would've loved just a 5g modem without a router but there isn't anything on the market that is as descreet looking as the CPE Pro 2.
Thanks!
