Fair enough. Should have looked, my bad@andrewtjb first post has VoLTE working on EE and only b3 is available![]()
You forgot you can use 1pMobile which uses the EE network which is cheaper then using the EE network directly as is the case with Voxi on Vodafone, Smarty on Three or Giff Gaff on O2.O2 and Voda are B20 only which is fine if you like drinking your internet through a collapsed straw.
EE is fine if you've got money to burn and you don't need a public IP.
Three is the way to go for ok internet (signal is fine, could be worse, could be better) and reasonable pricing and public IP.
Not necessarily. 1p mobile is false economy where 1p per MB sounds good, £1 for 100MB not so much and then 1GB is suddenly £10, 10GB being £100You forgot you can use 1pMobile which uses the EE network which is cheaper then using the EE network directly as is the case with Voxi on Vodafone, Smarty on Three or Giff Gaff on O2.
It really deprnds on where you are as where I live, O2/Three/Vodafone all give similiar speeds with EE being the only real option for fast mobile data.
1p mobile do 10GB data, unlimited minutes and texts for £10, 50GB data, unlimited minutes and texts for £15.Not necessarily. 1p mobile is false economy where 1p per MB sounds good, £1 for 100MB not so much and then 1GB is suddenly £10, 10GB being £100
EE PAYG can do 2GB for £7, 10GB for £19 but by that point you might as well get contract and better rates
Did you end up looking into EE/1pMobile?Thanks for replys.
I guess vodafone and o2 are out in terms of data speeds.
I might just go with smarty 50gb for £10 is plenty for me.
Not true, 1pmobile do 10GB for £10 or 50GB for £15 packs. Not necessarily. 1p mobile is false economy where 1p per MB sounds good, £1 for 100MB not so much and then 1GB is suddenly £10, 10GB being £100

Gosh. I wish they'd put up one near me. I've had Three then Smarty SIM for some time - which are one of the same.I had the same issue and then suddenly Three put up a new mast nearby...so fingers crossed for you.
If I were you I would sign with one that allows you to make wifi calls. Then you can use your home broadband (if you have that?) to improve the quality of your calls. They still charge you as per your plan. Three network (so also Smarty) lets you do this if you have the right phone. Not sure which others do/don't.
Good luck.
Thank you for mentioning about Mastdata, never heard of them before but site looks good.Gosh. I wish they'd put up one near me. I've had Three then Smarty SIM for some time - which are one of the same.
I've just used Mastdata website to check out providers coverage. Turns out that Three/Smarty is the worst and only 4G. I've not had many issues in the past and on 1st floor at home but now calls are constantly dropping or very poor quality.
Been fobbed off by Smarty saying there's been "unplanned maintenance" on the mast since 22 July and they are reliant on Three to give updates. No reall support there.
I've just changed to a Pixel 6a phone. It looks like the only decent provider in my area is EE.
They have both in the form of PAYG and PAYM plans. The monthly ones are the best value, and work in the same way as they do on any other carrier.I looked at it but tbh I was a little confused about pricing. Do you have to top up every month and buy packs? Or can you just set up auto payment.
Did some testing earlier with my three sim on my main phone. One was in my living room and the other down the road.
Sorry the images are in the wrong order. They have both in the form of PAYG and PAYM plans. The monthly ones are the best value, and work in the same way as they do on any other carrier.
Looking at your speeds on Three the one at home seems alright, but the one down the road is definitely quite poor especially on the upload. You might find even simple webpages hard to open simply because the phone can’t request things properly. Anything heavier than that is obviously out of the question.
EE/1pMobile like for like will probably be at least twice as fast, if previous testing is anything to go by.
