Best unlimited EE SIM?

Hi all,

I was looking at picking up a SIM on the EE network to use as broadband for a few months, but with the recent shift of a ton of MVNOs joining EE, wasn't sure which is the current best! I have 5G in my area, so would be looking for something with minimal throttling/no FUP as I'm expecting to blow past the 450GB FUP that Lyca state on their site. Current options for 30 day rolling I can see are:
  • Lyca (do they enforce their FUP?)
  • Spusu
  • Utility Warehouse
Any suggestions & input would be much appreciated!

Scancom EE data sims don’t seem to be capped (not even sure how I’d be able to monitor, I reboot my router every other morning).

I’ve not been warned anyway, everything I watch it streamed or downloaded and the PlayStation is always downloading something so I’m sure I’d have gone over alleged caps at some point.

The Scancom sims can be pricey so possibly not your thing if it’s only a few months.

Lyca are the worst for implementing the FUP, the moment you hit 450Gb,your speeds are reduced to .2 megabits, with 0 warning and no resetting to top speed after the next bill cycle. I had an EE sim through Scancom and used 2TB during a few months, and 1+ year of exceeding 600gb each month, the only thing that happened was i lost 5G access. Cant speak to Spusu or UW, never put them to the test.

Mine drops to 4G often but a reboot gets it up and running to 5G again. Not sure that relates to FUP but both work fine either way.

Definitely don't go with Lyca for home internet because they have major latency problems.

If you can get a 30% off student discount for EE, then that would a good option. Even using a school email should work

Is Utility Warehouse still saying no routers these days? Seem to recall that was an issue when people first spotted their unlimited plan 🤔

Edit: Looks like it's all ok these days, the only restriction is "domestic use".
