Numbers when quoted by businesses can be sooooo-sooooooo deceiving....that magical 40,000 that keeps 'popping up' in the V21/Biscit debacle, includes (no doubt) quite a wad of PAYG customers using the V21 dial-up service...when all this 'driftwood' is removed the reality may well be way less than the much quoted 40,000...It would be interesting to learn exactly how that 40,000 'pie' was actually divided and the actual amount of B/band consumers that Biscit inherited...mmmmmm
Any ex V21 employee's lurking around and willing to 'spill the beans' I wonder?
I would think that a very significant proportion of V21's customer base are likely to be 08089 dial-up customers because of their unusually low prices, although that would also suggest that they are likely to have been hit quite hard by custard's deserting to take up 'free' BB services. On top of that they've also dropped the vat saving manual clause, increasing their costs.
If only *someone* came along and told usthey knew as a FACT (for instance)that of the original 43000... 20000 were on wind-up, 5000 were business users and 18000 were home B/Band customers we would have somewhere to start working out just how many B/Band customers remain...We can "think" and debate over what suggests what all we like but until facts replace all our speculations all we are doing is ...well ...speculating...helps pass the time I suppose....nowt much else.
