BitLord 2.0 beta

Loaded this an hour ago,,, wow talk about fast !!!!

http://www.bitlord.com/

D/L ing 5 files @ 160kbps when the old version is only managing 47kbps (running both in parallel to compare).

At the same time I am browsing and listening to a 128kbps audio stream, all on a 4 meg connection that has never given me better than 2.2meg total.

still using v1.1 always feel aprehensive about using beta programs, but might give this a try i only have a 512k connection so any speed boost to downloads is a bonus

It depends who released the beta tho doesn't it??

I still use the 2.0 beta of Mailwasher, even though they are up to version 4?? The beta was free, handles multiple email accounts and has never bugged or frozen; unlike some people's "finished" programs (microsoft; such an easy target !)

I'm using Azureus, which some people don't seem to like, but I find it OK.

I always find that the client you use doesnt really matter. Bittorrent depends on how many seeds you have for a particular torrent. I sometimes get full speed with some torrents, others just seem to trickle down.

The seeders' connection speed is a major factor too. If you have 10 seeders with 200kbps upload speed, it will probably be much slower than 4 seeders with 1mb upload speed.

The new version can use multiple file sharing systems to speed up downloads, I was using the default settings of bittorrent and edonkey.

l use Azureus myself.. it sounds like bitlord has taken Azureus's distributed database idea... l myself prefer Azureus due to its ease of use and it saving me from the crap some other clients import in.. (not had a great run with some other clients so lve stuck with Anzureus.)

tried it today does seem faster its like using 2 downloaders together since it uses bittorrent and edonkey, it also looks similar to azureus,

one day they will all be so much the same and will end up merging and forming one program wich uses the best of all systems put together in one package........

You mean like Shareaza?

Any regular Emule/Edonkey user will know that even though the the amount of software available vastly outnumbers any other p2p network, trying to get a decent download speed is a major pain in the backside.

This is why I use torrents for things I need in a hurry and Emule for things which you wont find a torrent for, but i'm not in a great hurry to get.

definetely faster downloading at an average 45kbs with a 512k line with bitlord 1.1 it was high at 37kbs
