Hi all.

I'd greatly appreciate some tips/advice/input from those that know all. I'm a noob that's using a VN007+ with Smarty for many months now.

For the past 4 days, after 0200 (2am) I've been getting very low signal on 5G, with max speeds of 15mbps, often 10mbps.

Prior to that, I get excellent signal, and a constant down speed of 400mbps, which is so nice.

I've tried resetting the VN007+. No avail.

My Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 5G with the SIM in it works fine. I think Three are limit the connectivity at night for some reason. Maybe mast upgrades/repairs? Nothing on their status checker.

Here are some stats from the router:

RSRP:-87dBm/-110dBm
RSSI:-73dBm/-29dBm
RSRQ:-9dB/-67dB
SINR:4dB/50dB

Probably down to power consumption?

Power savings on the mast, maybe. At night the speeds on the Xiaomi are the same (with the same sim)? Are you sure the phone connects to the same cell?

Yes exactly the same. The phone only connects to band 1 and router shows 1+78 as in the copy and paste in previous posts

Now, less half a mile away from me there is a new mast or some works going on according to one network. Don’t know when they started but end date is 31/03/2023.

So I guess we’ll have to wait. Would band locking to band 1 work? So no band 78?

Otherwise it’s early bedtime for me lol and no downloading overnight anymore (for now)

In theory you can lock bands, but I'd just put the router in 4g-only mode (as opposed to 4g/5g), or maybe even allow 3g which could be (or not) good in your area.

Re-asking a previous question a different way. Is the Cell ID identical for when the bad behaviour is seen as when the good performance is seen?

Do both https://speedtest.net and https://fast.com confirm the bad performance at the same time? For locations with known high potential bandwidths, one play is to initiate some streaming service and test the throughput at the same time because 17 Mbps to 25 Mbps usage is inconsequential when the throughput capability is above 80 Mbps or greater, this ensures things are not coming up from cold.

My vn007+ is strange, or maybe normal. When I select When I select 5g sa + nsa/4g. I get no signal. I get signal on 4g, and I get signal on 5g nsa only.

This has happened again, working fine in the mobile phone, sim not working properly in the router. Bang on 0220 (not a second later) the speed is reduced and my 5g signal has dropped to barely nothing.

Current Band1+0/78

Connected to the same cell id and mast...

I don't know what is going on, I can't figure it out at all.

I experienced that too. same scenario even though i solely used vn007+ and not with any peripherals. I notice that i cant connect to a certain PCI between 0200 - 0600 am. That frame is surprisingly the off peak hours based data I gathered from several ISPs. So prolly service providers turning off some of their towers in that duration to be efficient and economic. Sucks to me, to us subscribers lol. I cant use cell lock with the power saving.

Which band is the pci for that you locked to?

What's the site density like where you are? I would assume that if they're turning off the whole of their B3 4G carrier (1800Mhz) then it must be pretty dense and you're probably served by multiple sites with overlapping coverage?

Hi mate I do not know what PCI is, and I am using the VN007+ alone that is all, one computer connected via lan, one mesh network via len and around 3 mobile phones and one laptop via wifi.

What is a PCI?

Right now I am getting 450mbps down solid. Hit 0200 it'll kill it to 20mbps. But it works fine on my redmi note 10 5g.

It's literally been happening this 1.5 week.

Which firmware version, have you factory reset the vn007+ to see if it's device related?

If your phone is okay it suggests something local
Device & Version Information
ModelVN007+
Software Version1.12.8

I have tried a reset on the VN007+ no difference, I will try a reset again tonight to make sure I am doing it right.
