Blueleaf Problem

I've been with Blueleaf Internet for a few weeks now. Have had problems being able to access emails, however they eventually came back lateron in the day. Now the emails have been totallly down for me for over 48 hours. However the homepage is contantly down for the last 5/6 days, as well as it saying a few days ago about beinf registered to someone else. The number I got in my welcome pack: 0800 977 6984 is dead. As well as the email address they gave for support: adsl.support@blueleafinternet.com is returning all emails sent to it.

I think they have or are going out of business, they have only been around for a little over a year themselves. I also had another number that wwas in a email I got from their technical support leader about an seperate enquiry I made before I signed up. I tried this & it says the mailbox is full, then goes on to say that nobody is available to take the calls.

01793500700

Just wondering if any other customers know anything else about what's going on with them. Thanks..
Have you heard anything since posting your review, Thanks James..

BlueLeaf

I'm paying for a 4MB uncapped service. Speed were fairly good until last week.
I'm lucky to get speeds of 50kb/s.
I had connectivity problems 2 weeks ago. I was speaking to a person called Rob (01793500713). But this number is always engaged now.

I have the same problem as well.... their web page went dead since last weekend

and tried to contact them today to see what is happening.... and there wasn't anyone to pick up the phone

looks like they are out of business

but the strange thing is my internet is still working

I've tried all the numbers I could find:

01793 511 711 (Mailbox is full & cannot accept any messages, sounds like it's a VOIP service & not a fully fledged phone system)

01793500700 (Same as above)

08009776984 (DEAD)

Rob Clarke: (Technical Support Team Leader)

Tel: 01793500700 Extension: 713 (Mailbox Full)

Grant Daniels: (Customer Services)

Tel: 01793500700 Extension: 794 (Mailbox Full)

When you phone any of the Mailbox Full numbers & hold, they put you through to an answering automated service..press 1 for sales, 2 for billing etc etc.

However I've tried all of them & it just comes up that nobody is available to take the call & I was trying from 9am right up until it closed at just over 5pm tonight.

The other emails that I have sent to all the email addresses that I have are simply being bounced back after a few hours like this:

"Hi. This is the qmail-send program at yahoo.com.
I'm afraid I wasn't able to deliver your message to the following addresses.
This is a permanent error; I've given up. Sorry it didn't work out.

<Rob.1.Clarke@blueleafinternet.ltd.uk>:
Sorry, I couldn't find any host by that name. (#4.1.2)
I'm not going to try again; this message has been in the queue too long.)

What had got me though is why all this crap is happening, a couple of days ago I got a billing invoice saying they've taken the money from Worldpay for the period of 2006-09-03 to 2006-10-03.

They have only been up & running for a period of a little over a year, so I fear they have gone belly up & done a runner with all their customers next months payments.

Once the current crop of time runs out from whoever they get their services from like Mistral or whoever. This could happen anytime now & everybody will be up **** creek. Not only will the customers lose money that's been taken for services that won't be provided. It's the fact that they can't even get a MAC code to migrate to another ISP. A lot of UK ones only offer free connections if they get you on a long term contract. The shorter ones will allow you to migrate with a MAC code but they normally charge a lot for a connection.

Which will need to be done for all existing customers because nobody else will take you on without a MAC code.

I simply hope that it's their servers that have crashed or soemthing like that & are being replaced & that's why this is all happening. However if it does & they come back, I'll be requesting a MAC code straight away because all this has shown what a sub-standard service Blueleaf provide, not to mention what they think of their customers. Can't even mail, post, call to let them know what's going on & if it will ever be sorted out or not.

However I personally think the connection is just going to go off without warning & that's it. Anybody know how you can get to another ISP without a MAC code, is there nobody that you can complain to who can get one issued for you because of the circumstances.

Is there anybody near Swindon who can drive down to 3 Temple Chambers, Temple St, Swindon, SN1 1SQ to see if the place has been stripped of it's equipment, closed sign or whatever.

I was lucky!! I was about to sign on to blueleaf last week given its good reviews. However i decided to do a little more research, I was abit cautious as blueleaf didnt have many reviews as other ISP like IDNet and ICUK.

Just to re-iterate how useful posting here can be on the subtle ways to 'assess' an ISP aside from the reviews

1. If its cheaper than the competition in the top 10 for the same package, beware! (like lots of ppl say "you pay peanuts you get monkeys!"

2.Always always assess the customer service, you may never need it but its always good to know its good when you need it!!
-Blueleaf had a silly system where if the line were busy you could only leave a message. This proved near impossible to get thru them- for 2 days i tried over 20times.
-IDNet and ICUK has excellent service, ppl knew what they were talking abt and there was almost no waiting.

3. Always try for 1 or 3 months contracts. If anything goes wrong you can get out!

Thanks to ISPreview and its users for all the info here!

Would have thought that was the first thing you did telling the bank they havent been paying BT so the service has stopped. Any further payments would be fraud.

well im in the same boat, have started looking around for new services for whenever we eventually get outa this sinking ship. At least broadand is working fairly well at moment still

Sigh!
:-)

Well if you want to jump ship quicker Paul from Aquiss posted this on hte forums earlier this week and end user way to terminate the adsl. Remember though you would be liable for reactivatioin charges with the new provider.

All you have to do is call 0800 169 0934 (Option 1) which is the BT Wholesale Marker removal line that end users can call.
posted here.

Anybody know where you can seek out a MAC code. Getting is de-activated isn't really an alternative for me. I've been checking & most of the ISP's only allow free activation with long term contracts.

So being that I prefer short term only, then the fees would be a lot to get it put back on & not worth it for a short term contract.

The only real option for me is to join up with a new ISP via a code as I have another good one in mind that will suit me just fine.

Thanks..

Freedom2surf were offering free activation subject to retaining there service on the same line for either 3 or 6 month depending on package.
However I believe you have to remain with them for 12 months before you can request a MAC, presumably to stop people abusing their offer by using it to avoid activation costs with another ISP. Or, if you are planning on moving in the next 12 months, I'm not sure, but I think Zen used to offer to pay the activation fee at the new address: You have to pay for the original activation though.

Apart from trying to obtain a mac code and going through the minefield of trying to find another ISP my main concern is acccording to a posting on another forum the Fileserver has been stolen, if all our personal and financial details are on this server the possible implications are horrendous,

I wish somebody from the management at Blueleaf would clarify the situation, sad really it's the best connection I have ever had
