Bring back force's TV

Moving this to general, as it has nothing to do with mobile or wireless technologies.

freeview took a really good channel off and left aload of pay per view porn channels on freeview
I agree - also a load of rubbish shopping channels which I imediately remove. Oh and don't get me started on losing Freesports!

Thsi was talked about a lot on th Retro TV Facebook group...

Its money thats cause this.

A couple of others like Talking TV have suggested they know this and will be doing some thing.

If I can link here I will but not sure of the rules.

That said - very sad its gone - a great channel but I doubt any shouting will mean it comes back.

Kind of mobile related as the channels were removed, to reallocated the bandwidth / frequencies for 5G?
Am I right in thinking that Freeview will disappear eventually? What will replace it an IP TV solution. Something like Freeview with all the channels in one place - but streamed across the Internet - not dissimilar to Sky Glass (even Freeview channels stream across Internet)?
Forces TV - Was the home of A-Team and Knight Rider? Will miss them - nostalgia!

I think a version of Freeview will still exist for a long time, but I don't think it will be much to sing home about.

I don't think there is any plans to further utilisate lower end spectrum such as 600mhz so most the channels about now should be fine, however I would expect some non mainstream channels to find their homes on IPTV or Pay TV platforms.
Was wondering if the world was going to move away from TV over the airwaves - to TV over the Internet eventually? Bestter use of frequency / bandwidth?

not only that, accurate viewing figures, you'll know exactly how many tune in

That's true .. not something I thought of .. the only worry I have is with such accurate viewing figures the diversity of programming narrows significantly .. only make programs that appeal in large numbers .. perhaps leading to geuinuely new and unique programs .. perhaps thats unfounded.

If only multicast hadn't been the chocolate teapot of support and interoperability then there would have been a bandwidth efficient way to distribute those broadcast streams over the internet.
