Ive been in Hong Kong for the past month. Flicked to my bandwidth moniter and was surprised to find this.
No throttles, no caps, no FUP. To top things off, our residence is a broadband tv subscriber
. Internet connection costs the equivalent of £15 (not sure hpw much tv costs they seem to be separate). Consistant HTTP downloads at around 300+ kbps from good servers whenever I need it.
You wil have to trust me that the network interface is purely for the internet, there's no LAN.
No I did not frag the connection just to show off, i only just realized I had my bandwidth moniter running all this time and was surprised to find this (I normally use it to moniter bandwidth back in britain so that i dont get charged more). I reckon I could easily have gone beyond 200 gig had i downloaded 24/7.
Just to show that, as a developed economy, the british broadband infrastructure really needs to buck up. The truth is none of the big suppliers will accept this much usage without ejection or without some FUP at this price. And to think that back at home I use Pipex with a 2 gig cap for the same price :laugh:.
Thumbs up to Fast4 and AFA for managing to provide a similar service for the same price tho. I do wonder how they manage to stay afloat.
