Wandered if anyone could tell me what my position is at the moment, ive just requested that i sign up with 02 after been with aol, Id not remembered to ask for a mac code, and 02 now say that they need it, however i may of changed my mind as BT have just sent me an offer at £7.99 per month, for 10mb broadband which sounds a better deal, was wandering what people thought was the better offer, and if i can just not give 02 the mac code, and they would then cancel the account, or whether i would have to ring and cancel.

Thanks

As long as you haven't agreed to a contract with 02, then you are not bound to go with them, so just contact them and say you have changed your mind.

You won't find much love for BT's retail services on this forum :) and O2's should be better because they are more flexible with better usage allowances than BT, not to mention offering better performance (usually). Be aware that if you can only get O2's Home Access product then that is a bit weaker.

Either way, should you decide to go with BT's offer, I would still ring O2 to make sure everything is cancelled just to be safe.
