BT are now offering 910/110 and 500/73 mbit service

It doesn't seem to have been widely reported yet, but, for me at least, BT are now offering a gigabit-level service.

I signed up in Jan to a fttp package. Checking my address now I see that BT are offering (at the same price as I am paying for 300/50 - £50/m) a 500/73 service, or for £10/m month more a 910/110 service.

Unfortunately, the only upgrade offered to me in my account is to go to 910/110 for £65/m - a £15/m increase

I called BT, and have now upgraded to the 910/110 package for an additional £7/m - £56.99. Goes live Tue or before

I was offered the 500/73 service for £54.99/m

Yes they seem to have dropped the 300/50 service - I see Fibre 100 for £40pm and then Fibre 500 for £50 and finally Fibre 900 for £60.

1.3Gbps :) ... was that over a wired Ethernet (in which case how did you get that as most router ports are capped to 1Gbps) or wireless (getting 1Gbps on even 802.11ax can be difficult in the real-world)?

Wired (of course :) )

I use a Ubiquiti UDM-Pro, (3.5 Gbps-spec) connected via SFP to a Unifi gigabit switch, to a second Unifi giabit switch to a Mac Pro. If that network download number is accurate (something I personally doubt) then my home network might be able to deliver it, as it is only just over spec for the switches and cables and network adapter. I can certainly pull data at something close to that from a local LibreSpeed instance running in a Docker container on a NUC.

Standing right next to a Ubiquiti UAP-XP (a stadium-level access point which is wildly unreasonable for home use) with a year old iPhone I am seeing over 500

FWIW, the stats generated by my UDM-P are -

EDIT - looks like I can get 1000+/120+ consistently at router level

I managed to sign up sadly not hitting the speeds you guys are.

I get 890 down but for some reason its stuck at 50 up called bt and they basically said tough luck o_O

Yeah, I've seen alot of complaints on the BT Community forum about the upload being capped at 50Mbps. Some speculation that it has to do with Smart Hubs with a specific range of serial numbers not being able to obtain the 110Mbps advertised. Don't know how true that would be as I dont use the Smart Hub 2 so.

As he already said, he uses an EdgeRouter Lite-3 (a Ubiquiti system, as is mine). As well as the prosumer range that I use (Unifi) they also have a consumer-focused range (Amplifi).

PS After a couple of days I am seeing router speed tests (from Ubiquiti kit to their own servers) of usually just over 1000Mbps (1128 max) and pretty much fixed 120Mbps down.

As @PianSom said it's an EdgeRouter Lite-3, just be aware you have to enable IPv4 / 6 Offloading to get close to Gigabit Speeds and they're not enabled by default, you also need Hardware Offloading enabled on your Network Cards in order to get the benifit.

Kinda jealous of your setup PianSom :p Will be looking for LAN upgrades for sure in the coming year ^_^

Yeah @h3x1e_ I'm turning in to a huge fanboy of the Unifi system. Cisco's Meraki is supposed to be similar.

The UDM-P, which was only released over here recently, is proving to be the ideal hub for a gigabit system. Very nice in these dark days when everyone is at home shoving data around and on constant video calls (and downloading games). Even though I wasn't a camera user previously, I shoved a hdd in the UDM-P and bought a couple of Unifi cameras too - it's actually pretty seamless.

Not cheap, though :(
