I am a computer technician trying to keep a friends system online. The tariff is a six month old free one that comes with a mobile phone contract. We have had continual line dropouts at irregular intervals that require a call to customer service in Asia to re fire the connection.

So far we have tried three new Liveboxes, three new filters, and three new cables to rule them out as the problem. At the moment we are using a new Belkin ADSL router. The line dropouts happen with the computer either switched on or off, and on both wireless and Ethernet setup. That in turn, rules out any problem with customer equipment and bandwidth swamping

The customer service will always succeed in restarting the connection, but refuse to look at the wider problem. In short, the moment the phone is put down they consider the problem solved…………………………..

…………….Return to line one.

Hi Clunk

I to love BT I think not they are a total pain in my head at the moment? failure to take notice of their customers problems treating them as complete idoits:eek: since the 21/03/07 I have had major headaches what with faulty hubs and now with very slow speeds been told by support to suck eggs? I was told by them to unplug this & that which I might add I had done before I made contact with them! tonight I check through ispreview speed checker it came up with 1023kbps and yet it states on their adsl checker That I should be receiving up to 4.5mbps:nod: but BT put profits before their customers and to hell with the service which is total crap:crap: I am tied to an 18 month contract which I now wish I had signed up with them:eek:

Use the Internet Speed Checker at around 9pm and you are lucky to get 1Mbps. 5am and I am getting 6Mbps no sweat.
