BT Street Hubs - discussion

Just to point out that on my walk though the area this morning I managed to connect to BT Wifi though one of the Street Kiosks V2s which was free and very fast BUT BT seem to have two Wifi plans.

I was connected to BT Wifi which is free but while in The Mall I managed to pick up EE Wifi which has paid access, just thought I mention it.

In any case, there's not much seating around the one I connected to which is something the local council needs to address but I found the whole process fast and easy enough, should mean I automatically connect next time I'm in range of one right?
Yeah you should be fine in future, I'm fine for the Street Hub WiFi and the city centre WiFi once I sign in but they're separate which sucks (as in you have to sign in twice on a new device)

Yes when your in rage of one it should automatically connect

I went to Warrington for a day out yesterday and they deployed 2 brand new BT street hubs originally they where refused planning due the "get out clause" of the conservation area which councils like to use but obviously BT appealed and won there not yet operational. It also reminds me that BT took Brighton city council to court over a similar issue as which BT also won.

Also forgot to add Liverpool have got another BT Street Hub in Hanover Street. There 2 more to be deployed as well.

Do these BT Street Hubs broadcast other networks too?

I've got 2 Street Hubs near me and they're both mapped as micro masts on O2's checker. I put the checker into satellite view and it lines up exactly. It even marks it as a microcell broadcasting 4G 1800 5MHz. Is this just me bugging out?

I haven't heard of them broadcasting other networks, I thought it was purely EE. They seem to usually broadcast B3+7 for EE (iirc 1791+3179), so B3 does match up

My primary SIM is O2 and the only O2 host signal I've had here is from eNB 508704 😂

Ahh interesting I didn't know they would host other networks as well I thought it would just be EE that the hubs would host.

Okay guys. I've figured it out. The "street hub" that broadcasts O2 is not actually a BT Street Hub but a New World Payphones display.

On the other side there's a payphone and an information display screen.

Forgot to add Bournemouth also has BT street hubs
I think I recall seeing people mapping Street Hubs down in Bournemouth or Brighton on Cellmapper a while ago

Found another 4G Street Hub the other day, EE has 4 more micros than any of the other networks lol

Definitely different from the ones we have, yours looks nicer imo

Hope you had EE on cellmapping 😂
Yes, anywhere I go, Cellmapper is running on all 4 networks. 😊
They all looked the same as that one insertfloppydiskhere.
