BT, Vodafone or Virgin FTTP

To the best of my knowledge, yes to all of the above.

They currently ONLY sell via Openreach though, no CityFibre based packages but it's in the works apparently.

The connection itself is literally just Vodafone. The PPPoE login credentials are a Vodafone account login. You can use a Vodafone router out of the box with their connection, and the routing and performance were identical between Onestream and Vodafone in my experience.

Billing and customer service are basically the only two things that differ between the two.
thank you mate, they got a nice sale for all plans and from 12 months to 24, maybe i can try vodafone this way as vodafones website is bugged as i have 2 onts and they wont offer me FTTP. lol

I'm currently on one of Virgin Media's social tariff which for £12.50 offers me 15Mbps DL / 2Mbps UL (Usually have to upload large files over night and sometimes over 48hrs)

Large files being railway timetable PDFs as a example the current folder I am using is 227MB.

Going by this site's article on Social Tariffs, it appears that it's a very fine line between Vodafone seems to be the next best option as for £20 they offer 73Mbps DL / 18Mbps UL over 12 months with no setup fees and BT for £20 offer 67Mbps DL / 20Mbps UL over 12 months with setup fees.

I'm not too fussed over calling minutes as I have my mobile phone for that.
The numbers you're quoting are all averages. You can disregard them on FTTP. For social tariffs on Openreach's network the download speed will be 40 down 10 up on the cheaper tariff and 80 down 20 up on the more expensive one. Doesn't matter if you go with BT, or Vodafone in this regard.

However BT will give you a half decent router and UK based customer service that will actually help you. Vodafone's router is pretty poor and their customer service leaves a lot to be desired when things go wrong. Additionally since you mention latency being a concern, Vodafone can be hit and miss in this regard. Some customers get great low latency connections while others get some really weird routing which makes it awful. BT is consistent. Even if not the absolute lowest it will be noticeably better than Virgin Media's connection for sure.

Yeah Onestream can handle 2 ONTs on their order system so you should be able to place an order with them no problem.

Just be sure to opt out of any free trials they offer during sign up through your online account once you go live. Otherwise you're all good.

As my flat apparently is capable of FTTP, is it worth moving from Virgin over to a Vodafone/BT FTTP connection or wait for Virgin to get around to upgrading their network to FTTP or what ever it is they're using?

What are Virgin`s rivals like?
I had been with BT for 55 years and jumped at the chance when they informed me that FTTP up to 1000Mbps was available at my address. I ordered it, then had three Appointments for installation cancelled with no reason given, shortly followed by an email from them advising that if I wanted to continue with my order, I would need to pay just over £5,500 in excess connection charges. Needless to say, I cancelled the order. I knew that the neighbour in the next Cul-de-sac, whose home was in exactly the same relative position as the nearest Connection Point, had been connected several weeks prior and enquired with him who his ISP was. He advised it was Vodafone and had been connected free of charge. I ordered with Vodafone, and it was all connected free of charge by Openreach within a month. I have Vodafone 900Mbps, and since installation, it has been rock solid, with speed never dropping below 928Mbps despite my Max being set at 910Mbps. Also paying £15 less per month than I was paying BT for FTTC at around 66Mbps.

Well I've messaged the landlord office explaining that the address is now capable of getting FTTP and that I've already had two companies wanting my custom.

Have expressed a interest in getting FTTP to my landlord, now just need a reply.
