Bulldog Going 8Mb

from Bulldog's site..

We’re supersizing all our broadband @ctive services – for free!
All our existing 4 meg @ctive customers will soon be enjoying an even faster service at no extra cost.

We’ll commence upgrading all @ctive areas to 8 meg from June 15th and anticipate that this process will take up to 2 weeks.

If you're a current @ctive customer, Bulldog will provide the fastest speed that your phone line will support, up to 8 meg. You won't have to do anything.
But remember, Bulldog will TRY and provision you UPTO 8Mb but if your line cant support 8Mb, Bulldog will provision you as high as your line can take, in other words, if your line can only handle 6Mb thats what you will get, to quote StarTrek's scotty, "ye cannae change the laws of physics" ;)

So I say to Bulldog..

bring it on.... :D

8mb, that's 16 times my connection speed. I cant keep up with the stuff I obtain via my 512kbs - I would need to stop working to make use of 8mb.

lol, all depends on line length too richard, a load of people automatically assume they can get 4 and 8mb when in fact thier line will only manage a max of "grabbing a value from the air" 2.5mb due to technological restrictions (line length), so they complain that they cant get 4 or 8mb (UKOnline will be suffering from this too) so they got to remember, on the Bulldog website it says "speeds UPTO 8mb" :) so it doesnt mean automatically they can get it, in my view, I think 2.5km for 4mb & 2km for 8mb is about right (Guesstimate), anything over and speeds will drop.
