I'm sure majority of Asus routers have AP only mode within the settings

I’m using zen fibre , will I need a modem , I think I could plug the router into the open reach box ?

Openreach ONT will connect directly into the WAN Ethernet port of the Asus box. Just setup the zen PPPoE login credentials on the Asus.

Cityfibre or Openreach FTTP? Both have an ONT
with an Ethernet port - You just need PPP Creds.
