Capacity

The speed on my home broadband has gone down a bit over the last week, so I got in touch with three as the checker says there is work going on in my area. They replied and said there is congestion and they need to free up some bandwidth. I’m not quite sure how they do this? Does this mean extra masts, or doing something with the existing masts?

It’s gone down from around 300mbs to about 25-30mbs
Probably worth waiting for the maintenance to finish and check again.

It's likely the work is intended to improve the service for all customers within range and hopefully the poor performance won't continue after the work finishes.

It might be worth noting the Cell ID of the currently connected tower if you can determine this from your device. The physical location can then be found on https://cellmapper.net by using the calculator tool to determine the eNB (selecting the correct provider).

I’m connected to a mast bout 100 yards away on 4G, normally i connect to one about 600 yds way on 5G 9 300mbs) so im guessing thats the one they’re working on which is causing the capacity problems for the closer one
