CF faulty router and no wifi for the past week.

yeah the problem with CF is that if something goes wrong with the equipment you are without internet for weeks! They gave you a date 32+ days later!!! I called a million times...
What did you do in the meantime while the internet was down, did you have to buy another router as well?

If they have no routers in stock I wonder how they are managing to do any installations? Seems like new installs are priority over BAU customer service.

My ONT was dead 24 hour after install...so I paid 60+ for backup internet... and CF gave me 1 month off..... (48gbp?)...

Was that 60+ to CF and did they give you one month only after you had your backup internet?
sorry Id didnt explain it. I paid 60++ (I can't remember) to get a backup net from 4G. When all was ok with CF, I requested a manager to call, they never did, but someone from the "satisfaction team" called and offered me just a month off.

Extremely stressful.
I even told them 10 times that I could install an ONT myself!! No need for an engineer...

Wait so when did they fix the ONT? And were they giving the excuse of no stock as well?

Again not trying to excuse CF here but you can make apositive from a negative. You could claim you had no service so you could ask CF for a refund for the period their router wasn't working. If you combine that with a free Facebook Marketplace used router you will end up with savings in your bank account. I would not go back to VM and the cheapest no contract plan is a rip off: £43 a month for 54Mb.
Apart from pricing is VM good overall in terms of speed and customer service when things become faulty?

VM is not great in terms of CS but in the 10+ years I had them they shipped me a new modem within 2 days!

I was without internet for 6+ days... They insisted that an engineer has to visit and that they also had issues with stock. My "new" ONT is USED...

I started with a 631 that every CF tech told me that more than 50% are dead within a week... and now I have a 621 USED :)

Did they just email saying they would send one over with tracking details after the 6+ days?

NO... they sent an engineer for 2 mins... "They consider the ONT as core equipment... so they need to send an engineer.."

You didn’t order a second hand WiFi router?
I did, the linksys one you linked yeaterday. It came yesterday and all is working but I still want the one from CF as soon as possible as this is just a weak one at the moment to keep us going. Rang CF today again and they just said the same thing of you have to wait for our team to get back to you on a timeframe but they don’t provide a timeframe at all let alone get back to me.

Buy the same one on eBay. They are cheap.

I’ll see if I can get one cheap on there. Currently don’t see that many cheap ones.
just called CF again and they told me the same thing, warehouse has a stock problem and they will escalate to admin team and still nothing from the previous escalation unfortunately.

There were a lot cheaper a few weeks ago, offer and demand I guess! Whereabouts are you based? There might few in Facebook.

Based in Romford area.
Check this guy from Ilford in Facebook Market place. Has several models at decent prices. Claims they are knew and says local delivery it's free. Like I said before once you get the CF one replaced you can have two in a mesh to have wifi reach further in your house.
