China Unicom VN007+ Review

I believe the B593s-22 does not have VOLTE as whenever I make a call (using a Vodafone SIM) on it, the internet icon on the front changes to yellow instead of normally blue, indicating that it was in GPRS/EDGE.

Plus there are no setting for VOLTE that i could find on the B593s-22, unless it's hidden and one has to use a special hack to get to it?
I can see that B593s-22 has voip and you said you can make wifi calling. VN007+ has VoLTE and VoIP options. Did you try using voip option in VN007+ ? Did you try using the voip settings of your B593s-22 into VN007+?

what you are saying is a bit convoluted but will look into it.

Unfortunately mobile phone reception at home (Wales) and indoors in many places is very flaky, so getting 'wifi-calling' working is essential.

Anyone successfully using 'Wifi-calling' with this router and mobile phones connected to it?

I can't seem to get mobiles phones connected to it have access to 'Wifi calling'

scenario:

Connecting an iPhone 13 (using an EE SIM) to the VN007+ (with a VOXI SIM in the router) via wifi, no 'wifi-calling' shows up on the iPhone and so can't make a call, however connecting the same iPhone 13 with same EE SIM to another router - Huawei B593s-22 (with a Vodafone SIM in the router), 'wifi-calling' appears on the iPhone 13 immediately and can make a call okay.

Same scenario using a Redmi Note10 5G (using a VOXI SIM) connected via wifi to the same VN007+ then no wifi-calling and can't make a call but connecting same Redmi Note10 5G to the Huawei B593s-22 (with a Vodafone SIM in the router), 'wifi-calling' appears on the Redmi Note10 5G immediately and can make a call okay, just like with the iPhone 13.

See the attached pic showing the 'voice setting' on the VN007+ (with a VOXI SIM in the router) and another pic showing the 'APN' used on the same VN007+

Any comments or suggestion as to why I can't get wifi-calling on the phones when they are connected via wifi to the VN007+ ?
Which firmware version are you using?

Sounds to me like using Voxi is not a good idea.
Put the Vodafone sim in the vn007, does wifi calling work then?

Thanks for that, so in other words this cable then (£6.24 on eBay) -

or even this -

yep those look right. they should do what you want (providing your power bank is PD and can do the same voltages, the cable just "triggers" the power bank to output that). They're life savers, I also use the same cable to power my modem in the car when we go on road trips since my phone has limited data now (I discovered I don't actually need unlimited data in my phone lol) so we just take the 5G modem with us which has an unlimited SIM. Plug into the PD 12v car adapter, off you go. Plug into a power bank while you're out and about. I love these cables.

An excellent review, that how I plan on using it too :)(y)

any PD power bank suggestions?

So why would you want to rename the model name from VN007+
or do you mean change the Wi-Fi network's SSID?
the model name in device information.

my isp always blocking my imei so I can't use their 5G signal. maybe they always see that I'm using router for their prepaid sim.

after two weeks the modem worked perfect, now i can't boot it.
only 1 led power is on and all other LEDs are off.

after restart 10 times i might work and might not. replaced sim card, and can't get into the modem Via static IP with local ETH.

factory reset? (will i loos superadmin pass?)
any other suggestions?
i saw 1 suggestion to lock 4g and 5g bands.
