City Fibre... what are you doing?!!

Does anyone understand the logic behind CFs rollout "plan"?

You may need to consult google maps to understand this...

A - good - few years ago, 2014 perhaps? CF laid fibre along Bilsland Drive, G20. Adjacent to that is the Mondrian (Shuna). Rather hopefully we registered interest in a fibre connection, but CF had no plans. Fast fwd to 2022, I have moved to Currie Place. CF are laying fibre along Curzon Street. Still no plans for the G20 9EQ post code. Early last year they fibre Ruchill Street. Last year they lay fibre along the middle portion of Shuna Street, and then along to Curzon St. Still no plans to lay fibre in Mondrian, or Currie Place.

In January they fibre the entire Wyndford area. All of it! Which is odd given the demographic.

We are leafleted that fibre is coming soon, but the post code checker still says no. Regsitered interest numerous times, but never hear anything from CF. In Feb CF lay fibre in the corner areas of The Mondrian.
BT start overbuilding there, and Ruchill St. In Feb CF lay fibre around the corner of Shuna and Currie Place, to the BT manhole.

If you plot that on a maps.google, it dosnt make sense. No fibre near houses, with the exception of Shuna St and Curzon. And using the CF availability checker.... work has only just started in Curzon, at the lower house numbers (eastern end).

Does anyone have any insight into their rollout plans? No idea on go live, CF dont appear to know where they have built,. nor even the hint of RFS date.

If they have laid cable everywhere except one street. There will be something stopping that one street and it won't just be cityfibre that will have that issue. openreach could likely have the same issues with that steet too.

My sisters street in Newcastle has that issue, CityFibre, Openreach and Grain seemingly cannot lay cables into it for some reason they are all avoiding it totally from their layout plans.

If they have laid cables to your street, don't expect to soon be able to order. It took 7 months to the day for it to be orderable from my street after the cables were laid. The street around the corner from me it was 9 months.

I think that it's pointless to try to figure out what their build plan is, it's clear you don't have enough pieces to understand their build and who says it's even a sensible plan, it might all be adhoc done on the go without much thinking. Just keep an eye for builds in your street and keep checking for service online, that's all you can do. My guess is that Openreach will get there first. CF builds around your area are very patchy.
