Cityfibre’s losses nearly double to £210m

I dont know how you got from their strategy to what they were doing 10 years ago. But anyway if there was no alt nets they would still be rolling out g.fast from the cabinet. Some of us care because we value infrastructure level competition.
Don’t get me wrong. I do agree Openreach needed to pushed or they would have done nothing. This shortermism goes along with how the corporate world behaves these days. But I can’t and will never congratulate them for doing FTTP because they only done it to survive not because they had any long term strategy. We would all have been much better if they would have gone to fibre 10 years. So the fact they are doing it now doesn’t make them any heroes. Of course I still like they are deploying FTTP as the more competition the better. And Openreach finally going all in also means VM has no choice to also go all in and migrate their network to FTTP or they risk being left way behind. So the fact I like what Openreachbis doing doesn’t mean I like them or I can’t criticise them for their lack of strategic thinking.

Oh ok, sorry for the confusion I wasn't congratulating them for rolling out FTTP, my comment was on how they got the partner ISPs to push Ofcom for the change in pricing.
