I live in a small village of around 600 residents (200 premesis). We are part of Project Gigabit and Cityfibre have started our installation.
Cityfibre have no presence nearer than the major towns 10 miles away. So far they have installed sub ducts in the Openreach ducts in the roads leading to the village but have stopped where the Openteach village boxes are located. The village from there has overhead wires. The installation of sub ducts has been ongoing for several months in a wide area around us so we have absolutely no idea if there is actually anything to connect the village to at the present time nor where the Cityfibre “exchange”, nor any other infrastructure, will be located.
The next much larger village, where the current Openreach exchange is located, is about 2 miles by duct.
The question is what happens next?
Are we going to get a village main box or might it be much further away? Presumably if we are to get a box we can expect roadworks to run a new duct from the Openreach duct to its location and then from there to the first pole?
Is there a practical way of monitoring overall progress other than by roadworks permissions?
