Hi Everyone
I have just watched a YouTube video from a company called Pickaweb and I am wondering if what it says about cloud VPSs is too good to be true.
At 2.55 in the video, the founder of Pickaweb starts to explain the difference between "single server" VPSs and cloud VPSs.
At 4.00, he states the following: "Many dedicated servers are pooled together to form a hardware cloud. The VPS can be stored across several physical servers. So this way, there's no single point of failure. The beauty of this approach is that even in the unlikely event that there is a complete hardware failure on one of the servers, the VPS will continue working because the data is stored on other servers and the failed server can be repaired and entered back into the hardware cloud."
The above quote seems to imply that the VPS will never fail. I would be very grateful for your thoughts about this.
Thank you very much.
