CMLink

testing out the £1 CMLink sim, there seems to be no VoLTE toggle nor APN settings. Am i missing something?
Depends what you are asking. If you mean you're using an iPhone for example then no it adopts the proper EE carrier profile which forces VoLTE to be on at all times and removes the option from your phone's settings, and automatically forces EE's 'everywhere' APN too.

VoLTE should just work, despite the option being missing. If it doesn't after a quick reboot of your phone just email them with your ICCID Number and a quick request to enable VoLTE on your account. They'll push it through for you.

If you put the £18 annual plan on this gives you 200 roaming mins/texts and 12GB data. Believe you can run this concurrently with one of the monthly plans.

If you're cheap and don't mind running a second SIM the Talk Home 1p 4GB deal is still running and the calls work in the EU (both EU to UK and EU to EU).
Cant find this annual plan !

Yeah shows can be run with a monthly. I wonder how it works in practice.

April purchase plan and go to Europe and you have the £11 monthly plan.

You use 6gb so technically the 4gb had within monthly .. I wonder if it then only reduces the annual 12gb down by 2gb and carrys forward the 10gb for later use...

Equally the texts and calls that are free with monthly plans I'm guessing the remaining allowance doesn't kick in until abroad again.

Only reason I question it is because it shows its valid in UK as well as EU+18 so just curious if its clever enough so if go abroad 2nd time in year its not at zero as used it all up whilst in uk despite being on on monthly plan

That yearly deal looks very good. But having your data processed in china is a no go for me. Do they eSIM?

Do they eSIM?
They keep saying it's been in testing which is now complete and that release is imminent but that's been their claim for a good while now.

Their FAQs also just say available soon.

CMLink global have an eSIM but the UK localised version still doesn't yet have it.

I received this back from then regarding using the annual and monthly together asking if it taking from annual plan before monthly

*****If you are in the UK, the majority of the 11 pound monthly package data is local data and should be prioritized for use. If the data usage of the £ 11 package (within the 30 day validity period) runs out, the resources of the £ 18 package will be deducted.

I switched to CMLink from VOXI after exceptionally poor performance from them. Service been satisfactory as EE goes, but I get a lot more phone called from unrecognised numbers - even after porting my number

That worrys me. I get zero unrecognised calls on 1p mobile. So even 1 after transfer would make me rage!
Do they get all the same bands as 1p?
Where have the callers been from?

Since EE added on that spam call filter service to my line I’ve reverted back getting none. I find it strange that I didn’t get any before and then suddenly when that service launched 3-4 a week until I opted to pay for it.

Don't send me down a conspiracy rabbit hole.
Maybe me joining cmlink might make me stay off some dodgy websites for fear one day I will get blackmailed 😅
I shall be cured of this addiction!

What do you think was the cause. We're the callers from abroad?
Suspect it's just a difference with spam blocking at a core level rather than anything more nefarious.

There was once a small dispute between EE and Hiya whether MVNOs were covering by the existing agreement or if they required addition payment to be covered.

I would imagine this is the explanation. I personally don't get any but my number is registered with the TPS and generally doesn't tend to get a gfreat deal of unwanted calls anyways.

When I first got my account with them and was on their early fixed number prefix I got tons of Chinese language spam and scam calls and they instantly stopped when I ported my number in.

But while the big names sometimes have network level call filtering (including EE except they now charge extra for it) I assume the cheap brands lack this feature as one of their cost saving measures.

(As a side note since talking about CMLink in this thread, my phone has been showing EE as the carrier name for the last few days even after a couple of restarts in that time. I wonder what EE are doing in the background as there's been a few 1P customers recently stating the same too)

Yeah my 1p has shown EE for a while now.
Never had a single spam call either whilst being on 1p.
One thing my wife gets at least once a month though is someone calling saying "I'm just returning your call" random UK people. One even got angry saying I came out a meeting to call you back ! Once an error twice a coincidence... 5th time... strange.

I was going to give my 9 year old my old phone with the £18 annual sim but slightly worried about that now.

@Koda Do you know what data is actually processed in China / Hong Kong if multiple areas are done via EE and within UK. Just from your own knowledge in the industry
