looking for an easy to edit system, which has a simple template system thats fully editable, ideally it would be as functional as this link: http://www.sdproject.net

l'll take a look, tho from first look joomla is a bit weird, however as long as page adding is easy and the template systems are easy for someone who hasnt much knowledge on skinning it would be useful, main reason is tho, l myself could sort things easy enough l will only be tech support for the site, tho in respects to design l wont play much of a part in it.

Picking a good CMS is a bit like trying to spot the perfect snowflake in a snow storm, it's a lot more involved than just looking at the big boys like Joomla and saying "get that". Depends on what you need. Many CMS systems are complicated, expensive, bloated, resource heavy and usually take too much direct control away from you.

If you want a good and free basic CMS to get you started then try Nucleus CMS or visit this site and try some of the live demos:

I'm not going to suggest Wordpress because I found WP to be too restrictive, it's very much a BLOG rather than a true CMS system.

actually l had been looking at WordPress, as l want it to have a bloggy feel to it with the ability to add some extra pages.. and allow staff to make blog style news posts while having about us sections and other pages dedicated to specific subjects and the like.. like the link above l mentioned in the first post..

ideally its just to make things significantly easier for the ppl who run the place to add content without being too technical and have to know much about design, the ease of skinning part would be useful as well as although l would be helping set things up it would be nice if it were simple enough for the other staff to work on it as well.. especially considering they are better at the design side of things (at least where images are concerned)

Wordpress is the easiest CMS, by far, and will do everything you need. Unless you're talking about a complicated (i.e. corporate) set up, then stick with Wordpress.

Wordpress is ok and it's very well supported but it's not really a true CMS and is tightly focused on blogging, however that might be ideal for the OP.
