Have been with them since Jan 06. Really excellent service from the start.
Easily available by phone, even at weekends, with a real live person who helps and solves problems. They clearly know their business. Are more expensive than competition, but have now offered faster speeds at no extra cost. I plan to stay with them for now and hope they bring down their price a bit. But service matters, not just price.

Yes, I agree. I am using Fast.co.uk Broadband Max service.
Consistently good download rates of around 6000 kbps.

Plus they go out of their way with help and advice.

Fast.co.uk is not the cheapest but they provide an excellent service and is tops on value for money.

It’s a shame that they get confused with Netservices, Fast24 and such.

Ive only just joined them so all i can say is that my speed is better and the service i received in joining them was second to none. They seem to have people who really care about you as a customer, i was impressed.I migrated away from Plusnet who are a shambles of an ISP at the moment so dont join them.Ill get back to you with more info when ive been with them longer.

Been with them for 2 months now all i can say is 10 out of 10. Since getting rid of my adsl modem for a router my download speed is always at max whatever time of day i download. Had an increase in speed from 259 mbps variable up to 1500 mbps with Plusnet ,to a constant 2500 mbps with Fast.Nice not to be traffic managed.

Yep,got to say they really are very good.

Speeds are higher all day than any other provider I have seen or used and the customer service is exceptional

All I can say is after being with most UK IP providers over the years I am glad I moved to Fast.co.uk a few years ago. I am a heavy P2P user and most port throttled or banned me. Fast do what they say and are knowledgeable and always willing to call back and help. After using massive bandwidth one month they were polite and more than helpful when most would have banned me. Now using 450 gig LLU no speed drops and running sweet. Thanks Guys.

Fantastic ISP

I've been with Fast.co.uk for around 3 years. Previous to this I was with Zen and before this I was with AO HELL.

When I first went to Zen I got fantastic speeds, but after a while I saw a BIG slowdown. Zen asked me to do the usual speedtests over 3 days and then report the results to them. To cut a long story short. Zen told me that there was nothing that they could do, has the results were within BT's guidelines.

Unhappy with the lack of help I moved to Fast.co.uk, this was a good move.

Admittedly at first I was seeing the same slow speeds, but after contacting Fast, they asked me to do some speedtest over a couple of days and then email the results to them, they said the speeds I was seeing were not acceptable, and they would take it up with BT, in the end up Fast arranged for an Openreach engineer to call at my home and check the wiring inside and out and do some tests. All was OK, so Openreach closed the case.

A couple of days later I saw no improvement and Fast emailed me to ask me what was said by the engineer has Openreach had closed the case. I told them, and I also mentioned that I saw no improvement.

They then said they would open the case again, and then arranged for a 2nd Openreach engineer to come to my home and do some further tests. Again nothing was found, but this time the engineer said he would go to the telephone exchange and do something?

All I know is that within hours of him doing this, my speeds went right up to faster than what I had seen before and have remained high ever since. I could not understand why Zen could not have went to this level of help, instead of telling me that my results were within BT's guidelines.

The impression I got of Fast's customer service is that, they are like a dog with a bone, they simply will not let go of a problem until its completely sorted out. :)

Fast speeds dropped

Been with Fast for over a year now with with absolutely top drawer service up until mid June. My download speeds have dropped from 840KB/s down to between 80 - 200KB/s (I say between because it literally goes up and down like a yoyo) with it occasionally going higher at weekends. Fast tell me there is nothing that can be done because of congestion at my exchange, and i have to wait for it to be upgaraded which will take months. I have done a few online congestion checks and they all say that there is no congestion at all.

Hi Mark,

I've been in contact with you for the past few weeks about my problem. You told me in your last e-mail that there was nothing that could be done and I would have to wait for my exchange to be upgraded, which could take months. I'm not on here to put you guys down or anything, I'm just looking for any further advice/help that anyone may have to offer. Like I said in my first post, your service has been top drawer.

What's your telephone exchange vt? Also, could you post your router stats (attenuation, noise margin etc.) as that may reveal more.

Hi Mark J,
Sorry I haven't replied earlier, been down country at a wedding this weekend.

My exchange is in Workington.

ADSL

Type Interleave Path
Status SHOWTIME

Downstream Upstream

Data rate(Kbps) 8128Kb 448Kb

Noise Margin 7 27

Output power(dBm) 127 199

Attenuation(dB) 37 18

I've had my router switched off all weekend and have literally just turned it back on and I don't know if that might have any effect on the stats.

Hi Lee,

Here's my latest BT test result 31/08/10 13:10

Download speedachieved during the test was - 4297 Kbps

For your connection, the acceptable range of speeds is 600-7150 Kbps.

Additional Information:
Your DSL Connection Rate :8128 Kbps(DOWN-STREAM), 448 Kbps(UP-STREAM)
IP Profile for your line is - 7150 Kbps

My Fast.co.uk speedtester result from the same time -

Your current bandwidth reading is: 1.82 Mbps

I have loads of these test results from weeks back which I have been sending to my ISP, there's much variety in results as i've had the problem since late May/early June.

Fast.co.uk Support is 200% :D

I have tried to add to my Review in the Review section but the Site System wont let me either put an extra Review or add to my existing one.

I thought I would come to the Thread and ask you to convey my appreciation of the Guys - Keith, John and Sean in helping a real Silv.Surfer Technically challenged to set up an extra email address. I know it doesnt sound much to you Tech People but to a self taught Surfer it was immense help.

I will leave you to imagine Keith telling me what to type and where, with phone in one hand - typing one handed and trying to make notes at the same time on what went in where, so I dont have to bother the busy Guys if there is a next time.

It is a pity I cant get this more noticed so many people are missing out on a ISP that does exactly what it says on the label and much more. It is a pity this Comment couldnt be posted as more recent that the latest on Fast Reviews which was not a good one and is the first one people see - although if people bother to read on they will see that it is really a totally different story. but neverthelesss gives a bad impression.

Thanks Guys :D:cool:

Hi Silv.Surfer,

You should just be able to just click 'Edit Review' on your review (right side under the review ratings)

http://www.ispreview.co.uk/review/reviews/5314.html

But I suspect that your issue about "adding" to the review might be because your review is already very long. I think the limit is about 600 words or something like that, so you could try changing some bits to free more space. We do it like this in order to keep reviews readable as people tend to ignore long ones.

Hi Mark Fast.co.uk Rep

I have just seen the link on page 1 here for dslzoneuk.net/isp_ratings and would like to add my 10's rating to that site but cant find how to do it - is it out of date/closed ?

Will registering with my user name and loging in open what ever method is used if the site is still active - I couldnt find a date/timeline of when Fast.co.uk topped the poll - the link was on a comment in 2007 so dont know if site is still active or not today.

If it is still live I would like to add my 10 penths - but dont like to Register on sites unless I know it is still safe and not dead - ever cautious but it has kept me safe, because I am as my username implys a silver surfer. :D

Thanks

That site is nothing to do with us and doesn't look to have been updated for awhile so I'm unable to help. Sorry.
