Community fibre available across the road but not on my side...

Is there any known way to get CF to install their service on the other side of a residential street? All the neighbours opposite now have the option of CF, yet on my side of the road it's still only Virgin. There does not appear to be any difference between how either side would be connected.

I did contact someone at CF who said he could get an engineer to connect me to a service that has been setup across the road and 'hopefully it should be okay', I decided not to go ahead with that possibility as the 'hopefully it should be okay' part made me skeptical that this method isn't the usual process and might get problematic if I had any issues and needed technical support from CF.

CF went underground using the ducts I think it's called when they installed their service across the road. I also thought they only installed via the telegraph pole, but that's not the case.

There seems to be a miscommunication being put out that they only do poles or favour this way. All the connections I know in N2, N3 and my area of N12 are via ducts. It took me a wile to get to the right people in CFL I don't see the issue give the engineer a call as he would be able to tell you if they can loop you in or not and possible time scale. I take it your road is SDUs or is it mixed???

Both sides? Just give the person a call and see what can be done there build program is paused right now. My MDU was done at the same time as one across the road the end of last year.
Yeah, both sides. Oh, I will definitely give then a call back but it will probably be at the end of the year now as my VM BB contract ends in Jan 2025, and when I spoke to the person before, for them to set it up would have meant that I would have to sign up to their service, I don't require two services so that wasn't something I was interested in doing.

When you say CF build program has paused, is that literally nationwide? Is that due to more investment required or just their strategy?

CFL are only based in the Greater London area as well a a bit of Surrey I think. Make sure it can be done before leaving it to when your ready it took them nearly 3 years from when I first started talking to them to going live (at best it would of been 2 years but for a mess up). I belive there consolidating before going again as there business plan/roll out is spiretic at best well it has been in Barnet. When and if you do sign up go with an agent as you will get 6 months free online will only give you 3 at most.

I just had an CF agent at my door offering their service, at first I was like 'wow, finally', then the penny dropped and I thought 'hmmm, has he actually checked to see if their service is live on my side of the road', which I then mentioned to him and he checked...as I figured, false alarm. He said he'll speak with his manager. Fingers crossed I guess!
