Connecting to EE 5G SA Mast

I pray for a wide rollout of the lower band spectrum, indoor coverage needs it desperately on EE to overcome congested/useless band 20.

well SA is on n28/n3/n7/n78 at least, where available (15+ cities?), which, when people upgrade their plans (and phones?), the n28 should take some load away from B20
I've just moved to EE from O2, I can't deal with O2 anymore. I'm travelling around more these days and I'd rather pay more a month for data that works.

I previously moved away from EE due to weak signal at home. Now it is rolled out, even NSA band 28 is helping here. The local mast will still connect to weak band 3 and band 20 but speeds are now boosted to around 50Mb down. Previously it was less than 1Mb.

Upload still falls short at 1Mb but it's progress. The signal is now usable which previously it wasn't.

I tried to connect to SA by forcing, it connected for around 5s then booted me off. I guess it's not quite ready here.

I'm really hoping EE get another 5mhz of 800 if the merger goes through. It'll transform their network and I have every faith they'll widen it as quickly as they possibly can.

They need to roll it out to more sites, too many rural ones are band 3 only which doesn’t carry whatever they say

Not up on technicals of VoNR, does this mean you’ll be able to use 700MHz on its own and so exceed the current footprint of 800?

Yeah, in theory, depending on configuration. Though with the frequencies being so close there's not much difference in coverage/penetration.

Calls made over 5G SA can use VoNR and not need to fall back to a 4G carrier to complete as they would with 5G NSA and no VoNR

Thanks.

Will the 700MHz rollout be more wide-ranging than 800MHz do we think? I never really experienced the "game changer" indoor coverage that was promised when EE rolled it out originally. Looking at Cellmapper, it's not on many sites I am near.

Got SA working on my EE line now, with an iPhone 15 Pro.

SA is live in my area, so is Vodafone although the signal is very weak so not from a nearby site. The EE one looks to be my closest.

Looks like I was wrong and SA is too coming from a distant site, looks to be n28.

Not surprising as my nearest site didn't have any 5G at all.

Excellent n78 SA in Battersea and Fulham, Wandsworth so far is the outlier. Get pushed back to NSA even outdoors.

Putney more mixed. Some SA n3 and n7 but mostly was on SA.

So far EE SA is seeming like a big disappointment with little improvement over regular NSA.
Sounds just like Vodafone and O2's SA JimmyBand28, except a lot more expensive. :(
