Hi Folks, and thanks in advance for any assistance you cangive me.
I'm afraid I'm not too technical, so please bear with me if this is a really simple question.
I have just moved house and am 13km from our telephone exchange and BT have just told me that I can't get broadband because of the distance. , so its back to good ole dial up just so I can at least get my emails.
The dial-up is connecting at about 32K and is driving me nuts!
After being used to broadband at my old address it is a nightmare. I do quite a lot of uploading as well as downloading so the slow speeds just aren't suitable. As I work through the day, I am using it at peak times so the sluggish connection goes to an almost standstill.:hrmph:
Can anyone advise what other solutions are out there (and affordable). I called BT regarding ISDN, but I think i went through to the wrong department as the guy was really unhelpful and didn't seem to know what I was asking about. Also what about internet through satellite? Is it available yet? What providers are recommended?
Thanks for any help you can give, I can't cope at this speed for much longer!!!
