Considering moving to Fast LLU

Hi,

I have had problems with ISPs for over 2 years now. I moved from Glasgow to the north of Scotland (Elgin) and loyaly stayed with Virgin.
Result = hopeless speeds (like going back to 1996).
I then changed over to O2 = started well but tailed off and is now hopeless during the evenings.

As you can imagine I am at the end of my tether as I am an avid gamer/downloader stuck in eternal low ping lag.

I have been thinking about Fast for a while and I just noticed that my exchange supports LLU. This was a suprise as I assumed that the local technology would be Noah's Ark level up here in the north.

I am prepared to pay more for a reliable evening service and wondered if anyone could offer advice on Fast's LLU service compared to normal ADSL.
I live about 100 yds from the exchange so hopefully this will help.

Thanks.

Were you on O2 access or O2 LLU and what issues did you have?

Fast, as far as I can see, use O2's LLU network to provide connections to their network. So if the issue you had was a problem with your line, moving to an LLU solution might not fix your problems.

If it was throughput, you may find going via O2's equipment to Fast's network might be the improvement that you need.

Yeh I am on O2 Access not LLU at the moment.

Will give Fast a call and see what they say.

Thanks for your replies :)

You should also consider other providers offering good BT based alternative platforms, such as IDNet and Zen Internet . The O2 package you are on is well know for its Traffic Management and weaker performance.
