Cut offs ?

What is the absolute cutoff for this ISP ?

Hi.

We can offer various max cutoffs with our packages. Our standard absolute cutoff is 2 hours but we also offer a 4 hour cutoff at extra cost and, if a user can afford it, we offer extended cutoffs (10 hours!) and dedicated ports.

Hope that helps,

Thomas

Hey Thomas are you running a Porsche. <img border="0" title="" alt="[Wink]" src="wink.gif" /> Very Expensive for 40 hours a month you must be joking, which bit is unmetered if you can only use it for 40 hours or 50 hours what £50 gamers we all doomed with prices like that. Still I suppose they are upfront with the usage. I suppose unmetered means you don’t get cut off until 40hrs is up.

Quik Internet Managed Unmetered
A Quik Managed Unmetered Internet Connection offers unrivalled service but at extra cost.
As little as £20+VAT per month gives you a lower contention and less busy signals.
Unmetered Managed Packages Available:
Please note: Quik Internet access packages DO NOT require BT Surftime.
> 24/7 56k/64k (40 hours per month) £20+VAT
No session time-out, 5:1 contention, free domain
> 24/7 128k (40 hours per channel) £40+VAT
No session time-out, 5:1 contention, free domain
Both of these packages can be tailored to meet your needs. For example, a 50 hour, dual channel package will cost £50+VAT per month.

Re Quik Unmetered Services

Some confusion I think. The 40 hours package is a low contention package for business users. Our site also provides full details of the more widely used 10:1 contention service, starting at £ 8.99 for off-peak. But please be realistic, whichever ISP you look at. As so well explained by Mark from ISP review in an earlier article, there are only 720 hours in a month, so on average each user can only get 72 hours in a month, assuming they are awake 24 hours a day. If contention is 10:1 everyone just can't have 150 hours (our current AUP limit). The demand for hundreds of hours for a few pounds is constantly forcing ISP's to modify the service (e.g AlphePhe in the past couple of weeks). One forum member expressed concern for gamers. Each closure of an unmetered service causes more pressure on remaining ISP's. If the service proves impossible to provide without making a loss, then unmetered will become a thing of the past. Then gamers will have no alternative but to pay BT rates. I have had requests for 720 hours at dual channel for £ 30. When not using the service, the user wanted to be downloading games, films etc. Imagine your telephone bill without unmetered. Finally, we have never suspended service to any user for exceeding 150 hours, but we are about to do so. We will try and accommodate all of our customers in a fair way, but cannot allow somebody to use hundreds of hours at the exclusion of other customers. It may come down to the fact that moderate users can use our service and save a lot of money, but very heavy users will congregate around a shrinking band of ISP's providing a loss making service.

Sorry for long reply, but as the subject was raised, and as one member said, we are honest, and I wanted to make our approach clear for all readers.

Thanks
