Apologies if I've duplicated this question. I recently moved house and was told by BT i could have a 1mb broadband connection, engineer called to carry out the work followed by 3 others but I still have no connection. I can get a connection if I remove the face off the BT box and use their test socket but obviously no phone as the face plate is now removed. The last engineer brought with him his own router and he couldn't get a constant light on his router except by doing same as I. He advised that I should ask BT to provide a 1/2mb service instead of 1mb service, why??, I used a site to test the strength of service yesterday the result was 1.1mb at the BT test socket. If I put the face back on the box (enabling phones) and plug in router (via filter) then no constant red light and no broadband. I have so far bought new filters, new telephone and new router to no avail, will the decrease in speed solve my problem? any help (in laymans terms) much appreciated, regards, rog
