Do your homework on Tooway!

Hi,

I had been looking at the Tooway service for the past month or so and decided that this was the best broadband option for me as ADSL is unusable where I live.

I started searching on Google and it was mind boggling the amount of Tooway providers/resellers there were.

I came across the Tooway.com website and found that there are only five main suppliers and it looks like Tooway only provide the service through these five service providers.

This is also confusing as one of the providers (toowaydirect.com) has a website that looks identical to the Tooway.com website and even on the phone they say they are Tooway, which they are not!

After a bit more research I eventually went with Avonlinebroadband, they appear to be the largest provider of Tooway in the UK. In addition they spent lots of time explaining the product and service and offered me 24/7 support.

They were very professional, my system was installed very quickly, and it's working fine and at less cost than Toowaydirect

Please don’t be fooled by the copycat websites and do your research…it will pay off, it did for me!

This original post is in relation to the fact that a UK reseller of Tooway are passing themselves off as Tooway HQ and they are not truthful when trying to sell a system to end users such as the BS they give out about night time data allocation saying it is not included in the FAP which is not true, 50% of it is, the other 50% is not!

This post was to notify other prospective purchasers of Tooway to do their homework on who is actually selling it and who they actually are, especially when they have blatantly copied the Tooway.com website.

My experience was after I found they tell lies, I shopped around and I found Avonline to be 100% correct in what they told me over the phone (I checked it out separately), they returned my phone calls (others did not) and not only did they give me service very quickly, it cost less than everyone else is offering the same service.

My other post is to notify people like me who want to use Tooway for business such as running a VPN, VoiP, CCTV, etc, also to be careful as its not designed for Business use at all and if you want to run VPN's, VoIP, CCTV systems, that all require fixed IP addresses, then you need to know that it won't work out of the box, and you need to buy some extra hardware and or services to make it do what you want it to do.

Hope that clarifies the difference between my posts. I also gave Avonline a good review as you suggested in the reviews section.
